Last night I was running (on foot) around as an Engineer and toss a couple of AT mines in front of an eneny tank. I thought the mines would of gone off but no. The tank drove right over it. My question and if any one can explain to me, does a vehicle need to "touch" the AT mine to set it off? I always thought as long as the vehicle drove over the AT mine, it would go off regardless if the wheel or tread do not touch the mine.

depends on the time limit between when you layed the mines and when the tank rolled over them.

I have noticed that if you quickly lay a mine infront of an oncoming tank, it is possible for the tank to go over it before it has "activate". as if there is a time delay from when the mine has been placed before it is able to blow up.

What he said, the same thing for claymores, If you see a sniper drop one in your face run straight at and over it, you have about 2-3 seconds. Then you have an easy sniper to kill.

I hate when you lay an AT mine, one second he runs you over AND escapes, AND caps your flag.
