if the MEC are at war with the US blowing up the twin towers wouldn't be such a bad idea, hm?

Otherwise, we could have the MEC trying to bomb the reconstruction of the Twin Towers as an attempt to demoralise the US

but then they would have to come up with some other sort of gameplay than capture the flag.....

Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip, I know the area well & all the Hotel Casinos would make for great sniping, Plus you have the Eiffel Tower, New York New York, pirate ships, strip clubs for when you get tired of fighting, The stratosphere would be a kool skydive.
Lots of freeway close by for multiple entry points, each hotel casino could be a flag or atleast the kool ones.
Airports are close as well.

I like the ideas of LA and Vegas and stuff, but I think they might be lacking in strategic value.

Los Angeles with MECSF vs US-Insurgents might be interesting; LA has more firearms per capita than any other city in the world.

No, for strategic value and political interest I'd like to see a face-off between MEC and Euro for control of the Bosphorus Straight and thus the Black Sea and the major land bridge between South East Europe and Middle-Eastern Asia... in downtown Istanbul.

Ancient, tiny streets, perfect for balancing armour. Built on hilly terrain for exciting battles. Parks and Mosques for ambushes or last ditch defences. Roman-era towers and underground tunnels (cisterns). Two nearby airports for basing air support from - or a carrier offshore.

The LAX Incident

Terrorists get control of the Los Angeles airport (LAX) and begin hijacking planes for suicide bombings. US must take back the airport and stop any planes from successfully departing.

Setting would be a complete urban landscape of Los Angeles area around the airport including buildings, streets, landmarks, and more.

If they extended it there could be battles on Somes and Ward islands - Somes used to be a kind of PoW camp.

As we don't have skyscapers as such, (just 'tall buildings',) it'd probably be more realistic for EA to create too... now we just have to work it into the storyline somewhere... Why would MEC, Chinese or US forces attack New Zealand??

Of course you could always add some different armies. I was thinking S.H.E.E.P vs. All Blacks.

Sydney, Australia.  There are no Aussie maps in BF2 yet, so I'm saying Sydney.  There's a huge bridge (Sydney Harbour Bride) and the Opera House...Imagine shooting shit from the top of those buildings/structures...
