Okay, here what you do (This working for me!)
1. Create a new profile/user in windows. (Make sure it's on Administrator)
2. Install the patch 1.12 on the new user/profile, on a clean (Newly installed) BF2
3. The patching will start, and the "patching please wait" logo will be displayed, THIS WILL BE HERE FOR A LONG TIME! MINE TOOK ABOUT 40 MIN!
4. After that, I recommend a restart, then enter your normal user, and it works!
Don't patch on the old profile, just jump back to your old one in windows, and delete the new one..
That should make it work like a charm!

EDIT: I got the "Invalid CD key" bug now :S Weird..
