back in my 1942 days, I played with some REALLY good people and they got accused of using aimbots all the time. I asked them if they honestly did and they told me to go and download one, to which I did, and realized that the hype aint that great about them.LT.Victim wrote:
So you've used them?Des.Kmal wrote:
my experience, they arent that useful.
I've seen a Youtube Video of a Aimbot that actually worked.. Guy was shooting ppl in the Head with the Type-88? (i always get the Tank, and Chinese Sniper Rifle Confused) and he cleaned out the carrier pretty dam fast with that aim-bot..
Theyre pretty stupid honestly.
In almost 500 hours of play I can't think of a single time when I felt like someone was hacking on me. Not sayin' nobody was, it's likely happened to me but if they were it didnt fuck up my game enough for me to notice.
It sucks, I wish it was not an issue but I dont spend much time worrying about it....

You'd think that anyone with the computer nerdery skill to create some kind of "aimbot" crap would be out making a fortune in the technology industry instead of mentally masturbating himself into Battlefield Two pseudo-stardom. Jesus Christ it's a video game. What kind of jackhole spends the time to learn how to cheat at it? I thought I was borderline pathetic just for playing. Hell I'm afraid to admit to my colleagues that I even HAVE a computer video game, and here these limpdicks are designing cheater software.
Same planet. Different worlds.
P.S. I'm drunk.

i think people jump the gun when accusing people of hacking. i mean comeon, this is one of the worst netcodes ever. ive been perpendicular to someone trying to knife them, yet somehow they always kill me. hacks? nope. bad netcode. this game is so full of luck that its not even funny.
It is impossible without access to server side files... and even then you couldn't manipulate the mechanics just for one person.Defiance wrote:
How do you know it's impossible? I wouldn't second guess it, unless you've tried and failed. Maybe a better coder.Ben>You wrote:

Sorry to double post.
But with all the security glitches in BF2 as is, I think that almost anything can be done with some C++ ninjaing.
lava dick is THE suck
(I haven't read the whole thread but anyway...)
What I have read from hacks I think they also send clean screenshots to punkbuster, so even if battlerecorder could see people from first person view, could people caught them?

Obviously it's possible. But you'd have to hack the server, not the client. Which is always gonna be a billion times harder than hacking the client, due to the obvious accessibility problem.Defiance wrote:
