I am having the frustrating problem of when I go to leave a server (hit esc) and try to hit disconnect button I can not disconnect.  Instead the damn game selects another game for me to join.  Note, I did not select another server but it was automatically selected for me!  Frigging frustrating.  Can not even Alt F4.

Any ideas other than reinstall?

Only click once on the disconnect button, as the Play Now Button is under it, clicking more than once activates the play now, which selects a random server for you.

If that doesnt work, reinstall.

When you open bf2, do you click the "BF2" icon or the "Play BF2 online now" icon? The latter automatically takes you to a random server.

Possibly, when you do the "Play online now" icon, when you disconnect from "server A", it automatically connects you to "server B". I don't know this for sure, just a thought.

Hmm use the normal BF2.exe and not the play bf2 now... that file is really 1 big bull :\ and i think that bf2nowonline.exe (or something like that) goes slower than bf2.exe

Thanks.  The gods were playing with me today.  For reasons beyond mortal understanding the Fates have returned game function to normal.
