So i am assuming that if you have a 6800 128MB Nvidia card with 2 Gigs of RAM you could play BF2 at all high settings.

You can use a program called RivaTuner to do overclocking with testing the stablity of the overclock with 3D Mark Benchmark Testing.
I just bought an nvidia 6600GT OC, all my settings are set to high and even with SF, I have no problems to report sir!! ... I think 2gig of ram helps
The fact I had no problems to report sir was a bloody glitch ... Crashes here there and everywhere. I checked the SF leaflets and nvidia have displayed their wares... SF 'intended experience can be more fully realized on nvidia GeForce 7 series graphics hardware. On a GeForce 6800 or better, you will be able to turn on all the nvidia special effect features at higher resolutions in the game'.
From the experience I'm having, I think I need to go back to medium everything... shame, bf2 was great at full spec.

I have an ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256 Mgs, High settings, runs great. VERY happy
ATI 850xtpt,AMD3400+,1 gig corsair mem. all settings maxed except shadows and dynamic lighting (med) runs smooth as silk. I have had nvidia and ati cards, i liked the nvidia drivers better as the ati ones are a pain in the arse to update.i also preferred the nv controll panel better,although my new ati card has an easy to use overcloking utility and tempture gauge.
p4 3.4ghz, 2 gig ddr400 ram, and radeon x800xt. Can run pretty much everything full at 1280x1040. Haven't noticed much bogging down and am in the map well before most.

MSI NX6800 TD128 here, unlocked all vertex shaders & pipelines with riva tuner, but then I got all kinds of artifacts on walls etc. so I went back to standard and everything is fine again.

i have a bfg 7800gtx 512mb non sli card that owns all ati cards (ati failed counterstrike with the x1300,x1600 against the 6600gt)

not sure why people invest in high end stuffi have a p4 3.2 overclocking to a 3.65 3 gigs of ram and ati x700 pro norm mhz is 4 hundred something and i have that overcloking to 660mhz and i run on high settings and no prob at all and for what i choose one over the other don't have a pref. allwas had ati for some reason
atm, i have an ati radeon x300 *medium setting* 512 ddr2 *i think lol* and a Intel P4 2.8ghz ... i lag a lot i guess but thats probably because i need more ram. gunna buy a gig, and also the 7800 gt soon. i cant wait!
ATI X800 XT Plat. Edition. Maxed out except AA ( which is at 2x ). runs fine. and btw, I believe the benchmarks show that both chipsets perform nearly the same on top-level graphics cards. ATI will be slightly better with one specific game, while nvidia might be better at some other. just minor variations, I think.
So if you buy a top-of-the-line graphics card from either chipset maker, you should be fine.

...mines an ATI X600 and pushed as a "256MB" card but in actuality its 128MB onboard memory and 128 "hyper-memory"...which in short, makes it only a 128MB card. (I wish I would have known that when I bought my system, I would have paid a bit more to have a real 256MB card...) I have to play on low to meduim settings also, no AA or fancy stuff. I get graphic anomalies on occasion, but not too bad overall. If I ever played with a good card, Im sure I'd never go back to this.

I think this is relevant enough and helpful for those looking for upgrade comparisons. My X600 benched at 1719 so its pretty accurate, I think. We should do an "upgrade swap" - I'll sell mine to the guy that has the ATI 300 and buy one from someone with something better they want to get rid of.

I'm using X800XL everything on high works fine except for the first 2 minutes I'm in the game it pretty slows down but that because I don't have enough RAM, should fix it soon, after those 2 min it's smooth !
Go for the 6800GT or even the 7800GTX 512Mb .. When I got SF, there was a leaflet in it that metioned graphics and that the top end performers were 6800 or greater, it also stated that witha 6800, you can have everything set to 'high'.VirtuaLResistancE wrote:

I have a 6600GT OC, and can't
I'm using a 6600GT with an AMD 3500, 768mb of ram...everything on medium settings including dynamic lighting, shadows and anti aliasing*. It works just fine for me. Hell of a lot better than my damn laptop with the 128mb ATI x200M...low settings at best with a little bit of lag. It gets me by however when I'm not at the office.
