try simple stuff first....
Try a defrag on your HD and always run an anti virus or spybot or adaware, a simple google search wil give you many options
try to repatch
try resetting your cable modem
try complete uninstall/reinstall of bf and sf (if you have it)

if basic stuff fails,
Make sure you have adequate video drivers.
Make sure all your bios settings are right...mem timings, cpu and mem voltage, etc.
Make sure fan on GPU and CPU is clean (CPU should be fine since its new)
Try resetting the heatsink with a very thin but even layer of grease (too much grease can be bad)
I doubt its overheating, but to make sure run a program called CPU Burn In for at least 1 hour and check the temps...
other than that, I'm out of ideas.
hope it helps.
PM me I might have more solutions after those are exhausted.

Hmm, sounds all either BF2 + Internet related. You CPU could be overheating a bit but it sounds like either a problem with you bf2 installation
1. Tried reinstalling it? I know its a pain but it might fix some issues, Some of the problems are sound like possible bugs in the game but not all of them.

Another possible is a problem regarding your isp/modem/router/other network/Internet related stuff.
1. Do some ping tests as mentioned above, Do a couple in a row do they get the same sort of results. Between say 10 ms of each other or do they go berserk - 10, 100, 15, 200 ?
2. Does this problem happen on any other game or on the Internet?
3. If your adamant the problem is with the ISP call them and complain

Not a lot of other options apart from that.

Nope not that I have noticed, just seems to be BF2.

I have reinstalled the game a few time since it started going screwy and all fans have been cleaned, new paste added.

I dont really play much else online, but I will try another game to see if anything happens.

Its really strange that even when the teams are Balanced, but when I go to the Score screen they never are balanced, hell now I am shooting at uniforms and not name tags, because they are so messed up when I play.

Anyway thanks to everybody who has posted and I will keep you guys informed on how I get on.

Just run some badwidth tests.

My ISP Im on is 2 megabits

This site was around 1800kbps - http://www.beelinebandwidthtest.com/

This site I was around 1.2 mbps - http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

Also I bit of a noob when it come to PC stuff, so any help would be great, but no big words please.

Hmmmm just used the ZDnet bandwidth test and Ive have some differant results.

Some were 29000 kbps and then other where just above 4000 and others even lower, but all over my 2 megabit connection so im thinking its not my connection.

Site is here - http://specials.zdnet.co.uk/misc/band-t … est50.html

EDIT - I have played Fear, unreal 2004 and counter stike and had no problems with them.

It's restricted to BF2 only then?, Something funny with your installation is my guess. Use full patches and not incremenetal but other than that.. not sure

Yep I always use the full patches, maybe it will start working again when 1.04 comes out.

Just seems strange how its been happening for about a month now since my CPU have been going funny and it work fine before this.

We did have some building work done in the house not so long ago, I did cover my PC, but I wonder If plaster dust has damage the CPU, They was plaster dust in the old CPU fan, but I did change this fan very soon after the work was done and clean all the other parts.

Hmmmm its a puzzle this one.

Dude I work as a Sr. Systems Admin at a software company,  I am not convinced that what you are seeing has nothing to do with a faulty CPU.  So much will usually go wrong before you see that, especially with Windows.  You are probably seeing bad memory, or a messed up hard disk.  It can't be a weak power supply, the other games worked, and they will make your video card suck as much as it can (just like BF2), it can't be a bad video card because the other games worked.  It can only be a fragmented hard disk, bad memory (BF2 uses more ram than any other game known to the human race), or a game bug.  Or video drivers.

Do the following:

            Upgrade your Drivers:

Make sure you have the latest and greatest video drivers, and any MotherBoard drivers you can get.  ASUS and NVidia sites are good resources here. . . and they have better directions than I can give you.

     Defrag:
            Pull network cable
            Reboot
From "My Computer" right click on drive(s) and go to "Properties"
            Click on the "Tools" tab
Click on the "Defragment Now..." button
            Click on the "Analyze" button
Then it will say if you need to Defrag.
            Click on "Defragment"
Turn off the monitor and go to bed and check it tomorrow.
            Reboot again
Try BF2 and see what happens

     Hard Drive error-check:
            Reboot
From "My Computer" right click on drive(s) and go to "Properties"
            Click on the "Tools" tab
In the little box that says "Error-checking" click on the "Check Now..." button
Check all the check boxes that are there. . . This will do a full scan and run all tests.
It will likely ask you to reboot your computer and will check at next boot-up.
            Reboot again.
Go get some coffee, at a cool shop or something, this will take about 45 min to an 1.5 hours.
When Winblowez comes back Reboot yet again.
            Try the game again.

     Memory Test:
            Download this file:            http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.2.iso.zip
this is a zipped ISO that you will boot off of.
Follow the directions that I made in my prior post and this will eliminate possible bad memory.
PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY ABOUT STATIC TROUBLE!!!!  DO NOT HURT YOUR EXPENSIVE RAM!!!
            GROUND YOURSELF FIRST!!!
Memtest is also a good thing to keep around in your bag of tricks.

Still seeing trouble???
send an e-mail to EA games, back up your games dir and install the 1.4 patch Beta2.

OR
Tell your folks / wife that your computer is a pile and you need ~$2000 dollars American to get a new one.   Then go get yourself an Alienware box or something cool.  Here is a good link for something that will play BF2 well,

http://www.alienware.com/product_detail … LT#pdp-nav

It works for company's, if you don't feel like fixing it, throw money at the problem.

You will figure this out dude, E-mail if you need more info:

The graphics card driver says the temperature threshold is at 127°C.
I thought this was a joke when I first read it.

What video setting are you running at?
I can run at high with low FPS, but it will have times where it will studder or go black.  This will result in either CTD or death.  Dropping to medium fixed this.  In my case that is.

Ok I played counter strike online (wish I hadn't have bothered, god that games full of assholes) and everything was fine, my Internet connection isn't the problem.

So I went into BF2 afterward and all the same problems happened.

Heres a screenshot of how my PC sees balanced teams, now I know the teams were balanced because I had friends playing who were on teamspeak.

https://img438.imageshack.us/img438/7954/bf22006080821244225vx4.jpg

So now I'm starting to think something is wrong with BF2, I have reinstalled the game over and over again and now am at a lost on what I can do.

I hope 1.04 is out soon and gets rid of my problems.
