I have searched A LOT, but i cant find the thread i was reading at work today.
So please don't flame or tell me search FTW.

there is a thread about altering the properties of your desktop icon to stop playing the intro movies.
Could someone please point me to it, or reproduce it here.

I will remove this thread as soon as i get a reply.

go into your files and delete them.

Go into C:Progam Files, EA Games, Battlefield 2 and look for a folder called "movies" If you delete or move all the files in here, the movies wont play when the game starts up

One fun thing to do with them, is to switch them to another game. Like, when i start up my BF1942, the BF Vietnam intro movie plays cause i moved it to 1942's movie folder. I just did it for kicks.

Open your Explorer to EAGAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\movies

Rename Dice.bik (I named mine Dice.bikold)
Rename EA.bik
Rename Intro.bik
Rename Legal.bik
Rename Welcome.bik

thanks, i will try that.

but it was a "+xxxxxx" in the icon

didnt involve any renaming or removing.

But would you say that its a better bet to do it by deleting

well, you guys were all close, but the actual directory is

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Copy of Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies

in there, make a new folder called "junk" or whatever...put all the .bik files in there EXCEPT menu.bik and menu_loggedin.bik. you can put those in, but then theres no background your menu/login screen (this doesnt efect game load @ all)

and as far as i know, sniper3 is right...the only shortcut edit is for auto loggin, and if you got xfire, who needs that anyway?
