I've always been very dubious of the whole vertical standing PS2 idea. CD drives don't like to be sideways - that goes for the 360 as well. It's a silly idea and I don't care what sort of tech they've put in to prevent it from being a problem - 'cos ultimately CD/DVD drives sideways is a bad idea, as well as being very gay.

lol, I had one of the old ones stood it vertically... then my roommate broke it. So I bought one of the slims that one is horizontal.
Im pretty sure slims can stand vertically as well.
