I haven't found a topic to that, so don't flame me if it was explained elsewhere.

When I fly as a gunner and fire a TV missile and my pilot has to dodge, does this affect the missile ?
I often have the 'feeling' that heavy chopper movements affect it in some way, but I once read in an old helpfile, that there is no influence.

Any 'knowers' out there ?

No, it doesn't affect flight at all.

You just have to be decent with it to hit another chopper thats all

Once fired, you view the missile from inside of it (or something like that).  So your pilot can flop around, do flips and run a marathon, just as long as he doesn't crash, it wont effect you.

you'll notice it doesn't affect it if you solo-heli. You switch and fire and you can do whatever you want, once you switch back you notice yourself 180° pointing to the other side and 100 feet higher

At the bomber gunner seats yes, if you shoot without a lock-on, you can adjust it, but if the pilot moves, so does your mouse so it will affect it.

The only way the pilot "affects" the missile shot is when he moves right at the last second before you fire.

If he's keeping steady (or no) rotation, you're all set.  It's the sudden movements that make ya miss.

Or, it's the cool "fly right through a chopper without blowing up" trick.  I love that one.


Once the missile is away, it's all on the gunner.

Well you can, especially when they bitch about you missing the tank/apc/etc, but yet they fail to really line you up for it.  Most pilots dont realize that the tv missile doesnt line up directly with their target sights.....especially in SF, the TV missile damn near points at the ground
