Battlefield 2 weapons, and where the crosshairs are actually located

I was slightly bored today, so I go in a pub, spawn as MEC, and decide to go pistol sniping. After a while I realized: Man, this MR-444 sucks, it isn't hitting anything. I decided to find the center of all (most) weapons, zoomed and unzoomed, for each team. Some weapons may look dead on, but if you were to zoom into the blue crosshair, you'll find that the middle of the iron sight is actually slightly off (EA/DICE couldn't be bothered to position the sights correctly apparently). Tell me what you guys think.

On a side note, a hack was not used to draw the crosshair. I simply used the rulers in photoshop, and dragged them to the dead center of the screen (in order to find the absolute middle, being the actual crosshair). Also, excuse my poor graphics, my gfx card sucks.

I don't know how accurate this is, the l85a1 for instance hits up and to the right of the scope.

but +1 for your hard work. Nice job mate.. once it can be confirmed as correct can this kind of thign be submitted to secrets of battlefield?

Also, does range mean anything in relation to this?

Very good work, it confirms my suspicion of the MR-444. I always thought the 92fs was the best pistol because its iron sight was dead on while the MR-444 could never hit anything. I just recently discovered it hit just above the sights.

i always find you have to aim high with the mister 444 etc.

Range has not been factored in, no.

I can snipe with pistols. You get the hang of it in the end. I prefer to put 2 pistol bullets in a snipers head than have to fire 6 shots with an AK-101 for the chance that one of them might hit.

Good idea, is that tier 1/tier 2/euro force addon still around? Where different teams have the different unlocks/euro weapons.

yeah man I hear that. It's really easy with the 92fs, but now I know why I didnt hit anything with the mr-444. The crosshair is much higher than the iron sight lol.

already knew this but nice find. if you think that pistol is bad, try find the center of the mounted tow on a humvee in SF. that center is not even close to where the crosshair is.
