After conquering the connection issues with the new patch and the long connection time to the accounts server, a new problem has reared it's head. It now takes several minutes to connect to ANY server.

I know my internet connection is fine and my ISP isn't fucking things up, but in the space of one day, every server takes several minutes to join. So far the quickest I've been able to get to the map loading screen is ~1.5 min, whereas just a day ago it would take ~10 sec or less.

So, is this my problem or EA's problem or a problem with thousands of servers out there? Clue me in.

Your problem happens quite frequently, and will typically clear itself within 24 hours.

1)  Most likely, it is due to a slow connection to the PunkBuster, GameSpy, or Game server that is on their end.  Gotta just wait it out ....
2)  The second most likely problem is a slow connection of you to your ISP, or your ISP to the internet (or to one of the computers listed in #1).  Like #1, this will typically clear itself in under 24 hours.
3)  A rare problem happens if you are using a wireless connection to the internet, and you suddenly have a degraded connection due to physical rearrangement or interference.
4)  The rarest problem is that you've suddenly contracted a virus or some spyware that is clogging up your internet connection ... or your virus detection software is slowing you down.  Update your virus software and do a spyware sweep to check for the former ... turn off your virus software to check for the latter.

Problem - Taking along time to login
Cause - Many
Fix - First of it could be slow internet connection or a problem with the account server. However try this to see if it reduces the login time. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\username*\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000*, In there find the file called general.con and make a copy of it on your desktop as a backup. Now open the general.con file in my documents with notepad, and delete all server-history and server-filter.
