Where have EA/DICE said they're shutting down the Stats servers?

I'm really curious to know. To have confirmed to me that all the time I've WASTED on playing this game (which I love doing) was compeltely and utterly futile, as it doesn't even provide a lasting record in online little pixel medals and ribbons will surely make me cry.

Say it ain't so...

PS - I did search on 'closing stat servers' this but couldn't find zibbidy jack shizzle ma nizzle, only loads of posts of K&P servers for some reason.

That and the fact that 3/4 of the bf2 population only play for their stats, means that this game doesn't have any life left in it. The only reason why EA keeps their stat servers up is because they can keep the gamers hooked and buying their crappy expansions. The moment players start to loose interest, stats = gone which in tern means all pub nubs = gone."

Yep, 1st person says his stats aren't updating right away and by the 15th person all of a sudden EA is shutting down stat servers.

Haha, it's as if you're life is going to end if they shut them down? I know stats are interesting and provide a challenge an all, but come on. I couldn't care less about the stats really, other than the occassional bragging rights with mates.

I wonder how long they'll be kept after 2142 goes live though...

Probably As long as BF2 Has 20 + Ranked Servers, they will keep the Stats Servers.

Na, I'm more bothered about them ceasing to be tracked.

@ KontrolFreq... Of course I'm not going to die!? I don't really care that much (my opening post was just a bit melodramatic ffs!) but they do become important when it comes to things like unlocks etc. I've been chasing the MP7 for time now. ;-)
