OK well i am new to the game and i still have not figured out how to get the unlocks...is it when you rank up on-line?and also the unlocks for SF how do you get to use those on normal bf2 or do you have to play on SF to use them thanks for any help
To get the unlocks for BF2, you have to rank up. To get the unlocks for SF, you need to buy it to get the weapons.
unlocks are unlocked by ranking up on Ranked Servers online, as for the SF unlocks, yeah you'll need SF first off, play a round to 'prove' you have SF but make sure you still have unlock points to get the SF unlocks and that you have unlocked the regular BF2 rank unlocks before trying to get the SF or you'll just end up wasting time and points.
Upon recieving the rank of Lance Corpral, you are entitled to one unlock.
With vanilla BF2, you have access to first tier unlocks. (L85A1, MK3A1, DAO-12, etc.)
With the Special Forces Expansion, you have access to second tier unlocks. (G36E, MP7, P-90, etc.)
You do need to have some time on SF in order to have access to the second tier unlocks, however once you have played, it dosen't matter if you ever play it again.

OK thanks for the help now so at lance corporal i get my first unlock and after that whatever set i pick the unlock for if i play SF i get that unlock from SF to?or do i need to wait until my next unlock and pick the SF tier 2 gun for that kit? also thanks for the welcome
In order to access second tier unlocks, you must first have the first tier unlock for the particular class.
Say you unlock the L85A1. You then buy SF, make Corpral, and the G36E is then available to you to unlock.

so i get the first tier unlock and then play on SF make the next unlock rank and get the 2nd tier unlock? and also what ranks do you get unlocks at?
