Teamspeak or Ventrilo?

If I was only to get one, which should I get? Or maybe I should ask, which is the most used??

I don't think there's a way to tell which is most used. However in most, if not all, of the counter strike clans I've been in used ventrilo, whilst the bf2 clans I've been in use teamspeak.

Also, it doesn't matter which you get. They're both free and small applications. You may as well get both.

If you're thinking of running a server, I'm going to go with ventrilo. Better codecs and easier to set up. No BS server/superadmin shit to wade through.

teamspeak seems so much better for me, but thers one guy in our clan who blames his ping on it, and i think he is now refusing to use it...

vent might have the clearer voices but TS uses less bandwith and doesnt have so many maxpackets drop .

TS is easier to use unless you want to start hosting servers yourself ,but thats a different matter.

I beg to differ, I lag in game when I turn TS. I can tell the diffrence in my acctual gameplay from choppyness to lagspikes. I do not get that with Vent.
