Worst rule is when commander can't even snipe enemies from stationary position.
thats funny "geneva convention", lmao. the mec isnt part of the geneva convention.DrunkFace wrote:

No Base raping uncapsDer mec starts with all but 1, it only takes a couple of quick loaders on Mecs team and US can be fucked, same with Karkand and wake (not so much Sharqi cause theres 3 spawns but if US can get the choper and a peice of armor the same thing aplies).ThomasMorgan wrote:
I have, actually. That's how I got my Purple Heart. It happened on Kubra Dam after MEC had taken over all the cappable flags.
The way I see it, if your team sucks enough to not have a single flag other than your uncap, then you deserve to be base-raped. The opposing team earned it.
I can see the other side too, "what do we do now we have all the flags but there uncap". Both valid arguments and the server i play on has a solution that should keep both sides happy (except the extremist "It a Fucking war game theres no rules in war (But there are, ever heard of geniva convention)). Well enough of that crap the rule is, 'No attacking uncappturable bases in vechiles'. Means those that are, can but on foot, and those getting raped have a chance because theres not a j-10 bombing every 30 secs or a tank stuck up your ass when you spawn.
i agree with the grey area thing. i was in the oman map sniping from the crane into the artillery area and they were shooting out. after i got killed i got kicked for camping an uncap. wtf we cant shoot in but they can shoot out? i think not.duffry wrote:

What constitutes rape - this goes some way to being answered in that you kinda define it as using vehicles but there's still a world of grey area.
What constitutes a base - where are the boundries? Can you fire in but stay outside? can you drive past/through? Can you airdrop people?
can vehicles be stolen - and in this cas can they be used (transport of guns)
etc
The big problem with anti baserape rules is in their definition and inerpretation. We refuse no-baserape clan challenges as it so often leads to dissagreements of who over stepped the mark (as well as one team playing a match in a different style to the way they practice).
The only fair way is to not have a mark and just let it play. It is fair even on the maps you stated.
karkand has only one flag for US but they are the only ones with an uncap.
Sharqi is the same but they have 3
On Kubra the US start with a remoe airbase and a ton of vehicles, you really have to screw up the start not to be able to snag a lightly defended MEC flag.
Wake IS unbalanced but only because people don't act as a team (and 1.3 only makes that harder). If you work together it is NOT hard to cap one flag (delay spawning) and from there the US can push on. Again they have the only uncap. The only problem with wake (as I say) is that public pla isn't organised enough to give the US much of a chance.
i agree. if they didnt want base raping it would be like day of defeat maps where once you jump a certain spot, even friendlies cant get back in. you have to die and respawn.E7IX3R wrote:
no baseraping is a stupid rule.
If DICE intended on there being no base rape, they wouldnt have put essex on the carriers and AA in other uncaps.
They'd have made a punish zone (like when you fly out of bounds)
base rape is a term made up by whiners and people who dont have the common sense to spawn else where.
Erm, pretty sure the Essex is the carrierE7IX3R wrote:

I see your point but the game developers didn't forsee a great deal of stuff about the way the game would untimately be played... one could very easily claim that they simply didn't think of it, like they didn't think of: grenade launchers being used as anti-infantry weapons; people jumping, zooming, going prone and firing on the way down while being impossible to hit etc.duffry wrote:
I wouldn't agree there, it's a historical thing (a little piece I wrote about it) but I believe that BF2 deals with it quite nicely and agree that there is no indication that the game developers or map designers intended for people to stay away from main bases in any way. In fact quite the oposite. The bases are scattered with defensive positions and weapon implacements.E7IX3R wrote:

Yeah, that's an example of a stupid enforcement. I got kicked for baserape for headshotting the enemy commander who was standing out on deck on the carrier on Dragon Valley! Wow, one kill with a single-shot weapon is baserape... me arse!redhawk454 wrote:

1) The boundries - Most uncaps are well defined, They are usually walled off or a carrier.duffry wrote:

can vehicles be stolen - and in this cas can they be used (transport of guns)
2) Can you fire in - Yes aslong as you are well outside the defined boundries (the closer you get the more risk you face)
2) Can you drive through/past - Yes aslong as you dont attack (shoot or purposfully drive over someone).
3) Can you airdrop people - Yes same as above
4) Can vehicles be stolen - Yes
5) Can they be used - No. Take your vecicle and get out of the uncap, or destroy the vecicle and stay in on foot.
6) Yes transport guns count as a vehicle
The server Isnt that strict, if an admins on theyll warn the people first before kicking them. And usually most who play there know the rules and if anyones breaking them make it quite plain what the person is doing wrong, If they continue, a couple of screenies sent in and they get a 2 week ban (its even happenned to me).
any more shit rules u guys or is that it
Shit _does_rule, bro. +1
That's not a lame rule when you get a -2 for a suicide by an enemy commander.Jello.01 wrote:

I was on Karkand, playing as USMC when this happened...

absolutely right, you need almost your entire attention on it to spot enemies getting thorugh etc! waiting until they take one fo your flags is a bit late!!-=CB=-krazykarl wrote:
i like that one, if you are doing other things(driving, shooting, flying, surviving etc.) you cannot concentrate fully on commanding. and when you die the people that are counting on you are left hanging.Richard2000 wrote:

You CAN'T do both things at once, command or fight. I don't care how good you are!
That said there is a middle ground, say 16 people on a 64 server, you may need to take a role, but it comes after the commanding!! (you get no points for your kills!! but you damn well lose points for any accidental TKs, stay out the way)
Eh??? It doesn`t even make any sense?Masques wrote:

Report the server with that screen shot. That is against the ROE no matter what the admin says.Masques wrote:
