i hate it. this problem first occured after i bought a TFT monitor. when i started the game i just have a blackscreen. i tried to fix this by changing the refreshrates, but nothing worked. after i installed the game new everything was ok. so i enjoyed the game for a couple of months.
yesterday i installed the ne patch 1.03 and what happens? of course: blackscreen. again i tried to change the refreshrates and to install it new, but this time it doesnt work!
besides i bought the new special forces add on which completly doesnt work! i have the black screen each time i start it. i dont even know, how it looks, after it is started.

my system

19" TFT monitor
geforce 7800 gtx
amd 3500+
2GB ram
enough harddisk space

do you have any useful hints for me?

thank you

as far as I know, every patch will reset your video settings to whatever BF2 figures out is standard. As TFT's have a natural resolution ( If I am not mistaken ) those settings might contradict and you get a black screen.

possible solution: connect a standard crt to your system, change video settings to match your newly bought TFT and re-connect said TFT. I am not much of a tech guy, but that's the best I could come up with. Am I making sense ?

the latter.

no, seriously, I am not much of a tech guy, and I know that. So Instead of pretending to know, I'll make sure everyone is aware I am merely guessing.

wow, you are really paying attention...

did I make sense, by the way ? Or was I totally of ?

hey guess what!

i don't have another monitor to try it out.
one problem is that the normal resolution of my TFT is 1200 * 1024 which seems to be not supported by bf2.
i really was tempted by throwing this damn bf2 and special forces out of the window. ii love this game so this so very annoying. no other game makes this kind of problems, but the one i really want to play doesnt work!!!

help me
