Whats the point of this topic?
I do that all the time. Hitting the join game button makes me crash 1 in a 50 times, though.
But escape is not the ultimate solution. Often, when you press escape, it joins the game and then loads the menu. And my game HAS crashed once by pressing escape, so I believe this is just a myth.
I'll just continue to press join game and twiddle my thumbs in hope of a soon-to-be-released 1.4.

Well I cant hit anything because I get CTD before I see that "Join Game" thing...so its like you cant do anything for it.

Well this is a worthless post seeing as the patch that fixes this is out tomorrow.
Doesnt work at all buddy. Its a myth and merely a coincedence when you dont crash.
What your supposed to do to not get a CTD at the join game screen is click auto ready until you hear a beep, then your safe to join by hitting the join game button or by hitting escape, courtesy of this thread
Ive been using the method I listed above for a long time, and haven't crashed once since I first started using this method. Some say it doesn't work, but for me, it has very very well.
