That I can not answer for sure!?!? The primary weapon would be the standard kit weapon, DAO or P-90 not pistol - knife! They are taking the AT "rockets" out as they are not needed, the SRAW is a AT "rocket".

i mentioned pistol and knife because thos are the other weapons in the kit, and i personally would love knifeing in infantry only, lots of fresh meat.

I love knifing as well, I am just know getting the hang of it. It's alot of fun! In your post you said primary weapon, the primary weapon has always been the standard weapon, DAO or P-90. Sorry I don't know if they will give him grenades or what as a secondary weapon...

EDIT: Most of all my knife kills that I have, I have gotten in the past three weeks. I got my 7 IAR for my basic badge but could not get the hang of it until now... I do enjoy knifing now a days, I especailly like it when the feet stick out the wall and you knife there big toe !

I've seen a fair few people play AT on Devil's Perch or Iron Gator, just to get the DAO. I assume the same thing will happen on Karkand. AT should still have some players, even if they take out the SRAW and ERYX.


Maybe people will even play AT to get the P90. There's a lot of stupid people around. I'm sure some of them think the P90 is better than an assault rifle.

I'm stuck in 2 minds about it-
First it will be great for playing to get my assault rifle KD up faster (aiming for 2.5+ kd, usually get 3-4 kd each round but is often ruined by tanks/arty) the round would last longer (since no arty to bring down tickets) and you will get higher scores.
But on the other hand, I don't like the fact that there will be absolutly no cars at all. I mean, EA didn't even bother to think to bring in a small 'buggy-like' (similar to the small buggy in SF) vehicle to get around on. These buggys should be extremly easy to kill (almost as easily as killing infrantry) and shouldn't do any damage when hit by one OR they should be very easy to dodge.
I don't think EA put enough thought into it-having no cars at all would ruin maps like op.clean sweep, fushe, dragon valley, kubra...and to a lesser extent mashtuur (some CPs on mash are a fair while apart-eg mosq. to power plant)
EA should put a very, very light, fast and weak vehicle to move around on this would atleast put maps like fushee in contantion for infrantry only rotation, instead of these maps having no choice but to have vehicles on, and they should giv ethe commanders the ability to drop them, like the vehivcle drops.

the only maps where the infrantry only feature would work are Karkand, Sharqi and Mash (although Mash you do rely on vehicles to get you from 1 flag to another alot of the time).

Maybe initially there'll be an influx into infantry-only servers (legit ones ) because it's fresh. I suspect after the novelty wears off it'll settle down to being the lesser of the two parts of the game in terms of numbers. I was thinking that maybe players of lesser skill would favour it, but on the other hand there are plenty of good players who like to ground pound and who'll also appreciate the freedom of not having to worry about having an APC facing them when they spawn in an alley on Karkand!

The long hauls on foot are going to suck a bit though. Dang I wish they'd put in softskins, even without guns.

i hope their arent many infantry only servers. i love being infantry and going against tanks/choppers and whatever else. i find it more fun thatn just infantry only. the tank taht drives up and blows away half your team makes for a lot more excitement i think.

I dont really want to play inf only, I play bf2 because of the Jets/Helis/Tanks etc. If i want Inf only I'll just go play css. I probably would'nt mind Inf Only mode if they kept the hitpoints/sprint the same but bought in the special forces buggies or something similar.

It shows you did not participate in the betatest.

INF only will have the following things:
No vehicles (incl no jeeps) except for RIB's to cross the water.
Extended sprint time.
NO arty.
Health is exactly the same as on vehicle servers.

INF only is a different way of playing... If you do not squad up and play as a team, you will loose.... period.

The fun thing with the RIB's is that they can make a big difference as a mobile weapons platform and quick transport.

INF only is great fun but after a few rounds you start to miss your vehicles. So I predict INF only will be a nice snack to have in between regular BF2 vehicle play.

A few rounds a day keep the boredom away (but it cannot match the old BF2 feel and style).
Great for Medal hunters though....

Wrong....

You only get the RIB on watermaps, but there are no other vehicles.
AT will be very usefull for taking out the RIB's (boats), since they are the only means of transport and if placed strategically can tilt the battle (they are the only mobile weaponsplatform you have and the MG just rips through lonewolfs and non cooperating squads like a knife through butter).

I love Joint Ops and I wish they would make a new version of it.
JO was ok - more of a let down then what I and quite a few others were originally expecting.

I remember in the days of the beta demo, my squad use to empty the servers, we'd play for hours on end. Needless to say, when the full version came out, Twin Islands was my least favourite map lol..

I thought it was only boats on carrier maps, not jeeps?
Still sucks to get around on foot, even with the longer sprint..

The boats remain. Although they may be removing the mounted gun on them. Can't remember, it was in the beta chatter thread at some point.

I'd love to know how anyone will ever get from one base to another on Zatar. It's entirely open, no cover. It'll be a pointless sniper standoff.

Also in infantry only most people will be snipers so each flag will have roughly 10 claymores round it. Enjoy.

I'll be on the regular servers.
