Hate to burst your bubble but, just about every weapon in BF2 kills with a single shot to the head. Pistols take two.

Go look up the damage for each weapon. You multiply the base damage of the weapon by three for a headshot. So any weapon with 34 damage or more means it'll kill in a single head shot.

Where you got this idea that it always takes 2 shots to the head to kill someone, I'm not sure. But it's best to know what YOU'RE talking about before accusing others of not knowing what they're talking about.

Also, I got complained about a lot on my own server the other night. Something along the lines of...

"OMG WTF 1 SHOT 1 KILL EVERY TIME"

The truth is I'm not that good. I was using the G36E and this guy would almost always be prone. What seemed to him to be one shot hitting him and killing him, was actually three shots. And when you're face to face prone against a weapon with a three round burst and very little deviation, you're lucky if one of those three shots doesn't hit you in the face.

I'm not seeing Hackers/Glitchers, but Bunnyhoppers Mark II, (Since the 'We've got rid of Bunnyhopping' patch,) I always see - mostly by the higher-ranked players and clan members, (the +plus clan especially.)

Still, this just means that I've become quite proficient in taking them out. It's more satisfying to get an exploiter than a usual player, so I say let the baby have it's bottle.

It's just a game and I shouldn't worry about it, but I have been in several rounds wherein I dropped a half a clip into some guy who didn't hop, didn't prone, didn't as much as wiggle, and he'd take me from full health to dead in one shot.

The first time it happens I think "damn, I must have peppered his body armor and he got me clean between the eyes," but if by the second time I pop two shots into his skull he smiles and still buries me with one I escape out of the server.

Starfleet, I know exactly what you're talking about. It used to happen to me all the time, and I thought it was hackers, too. As it turns out the lag makes it so that you don't always hear every shot fired. The guys are actually shooting at you and hitting you a several times before you ever experience the first hit, so you think it's only one hit taking you down.

To help with this, choose only servers with low ping. I never join a server with ping over 65. I generally try to keep it in the 40s. Also, make sure your video settings aren't too high for your machine to handle smoothly. If you do these things, you'll notice that events occur more like you would expect them to. (Most of the time) I didn't know these things when I started playing and for months I had a KD ratio similar to yours. I've been working on it and just recently brought it it up over 1. Nowadays I typically get 2:1 or more IAR, but it's averaged out from the beginning so it's still only at 1.09.

People are naive if they think that everyone is legit. It doesn't take 5000 hours of gameplay to learn that if you headshot someone with a sniper rifle, and you see the puff of smoke come off their head, then that person should die. So when that happens and the person turns and kills you in an instant, who wouldn't think that something fishy is going on?

Along those lines, and in reference to the comment about officers owning people through god-like skill, I have noticed in my (humble) 430 hours a definite tendency for this exact situation to occur more often with officers than wth lower ranked players. When I was going for my expert AT badge, several times I would hit an officer directly in the back with an AT missile--and the missile explode on him--only to have him turn and kill or almost kill me. Now that I'm working on my sniper expert badge, I find that headshots aren't nearly as effective against officers as they are for noobs. And I'm not talking about long-range running headshots. (Which I do get regularly.) I'm talking about hitting officers in the head while they're aiming at someone else, standing still, or when they're in jeeps on the mounted gun. I have seen officers walk past claymores without setting them off, then the next guy walk by and pay. Just the other night I threw a bunch of grenades at a group of 6 people. they all died except the officer medic who started reviving them. I finally took him out with a headshot (after 2 or 3 tries.)

All this is very annoying and I have learned to try to avoid shooting at officers if they don't know I'm there so that they don't turn and kill me.

On the flip-side, I have personally experienced times where I know I didn't hit the target and yet they perished. I have had people blow me away with PKMs but yet I managed to kill them with my knife somehow. Granted, this doesn't happen to me very often, but when it does it makes me feel like crap for the other guy because I know they owned me and I still won out. I try to acknowledge the fact  in the game chat so they know that I know that they got the better of me and they don't get discouraged.

For all you sensitive officers out there, I'm not claiming that you are hacking. I believe that you are doing a great job playing effectively, and that for some reason the game gives you bonuses when calculating hits against you. (Or something lame like that.) I think people are resistant to this idea because it means that it may be possible that when they "pwn" someone it's not because they are Neo from the Matrix, but because they were blessed by a server glitch, ping, or favoritism by the game.

hmm... never had a problem killing high rank officers. the only problem i have with high ranks is that if they dont get "their" vehicles, they usually get owend and then switch teams to my side. then the teams are uneven and all the low class ranks leave the server and i have to find a new server to play on.

Hi Starfleet,
there are several aim bots around that will enable the guy to shoot you at long range without having to aim. I did see several in game videos of guys which were able to turn 180 degrees in a split second lying on the ground and then aim at the nearest enemy. I saw videos of guys looking through walls or having the red signs on all the time. SAD BUT TRUE -

BUT...........
to avoid all that just enable the battlerecorder option in your menue. Those hackers never would dare to do that stuff on thoses servers - as everybody would have proof they did.

BUT it is also true that there are guys out there, which are really able to down you with just a couple of shoots if they hit the head. I do have an accuracy of around 29% and always aim for the head. My stats on bf2player say I need 2.22 hits to kill somebody (not sure whether that includes Tank kills which are one shot one kill for foot soldiers).
Together with a very low ping (10-20) your chances of hitting them right where you aim are pretty good.

--> So take your time, keep cool and shoot for the head with very short bursts - you will get them much faster and your accuracy will raise dramatically (no problem starting from 16%

Very often you do not hear any sounds of what killed you. Even with my ultra-High Sound setting (comes with the X-FI Soundcard) you miss some sounds. But that is a problem of the game - not cheating.

So to avoid getting killed by cheaters and to get killed by a guy with skill go to a server with the battlerecorder enable - and you will probably have a much better time.

Conclusion:   EA - BATTLERECORDER FOR EVERY RANKED SERVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good shooting

If you play on my clans server. We have an admin in it any time a game is going.  And if we suspect you of cheating we kick and or ban your ass.

dude i get this all the time. i thought i was the only one. Some guy jumps and goes prone and even though i get the first shots off he still kills me in a split second. Im not saying its hacks but it sure is suspicious when it happens constantly

EDIT: I forgot to say that my shots actually hit the guy, not miss. Even when i used the MG36 i got like 4 hits on him before he went prone. But as soon as he hit the ground i was dead.

dont play on a server with anyone who has 1/2 your ping... if you do your in for trouble.

yes the number of cheaters in game has grown geometrically.  Upgrade your system dual video cards top 3 cpu and tune down your video settings.  overclock.

As much as I hate to agree with both sides, I have to.
After playing a Knife/Pistol/Paddle today I was "one shot, one kill" about a dozen times.  I thought as many have stated (I suck, and they were lucky/good), but I decided on an experiment.

I went around to the HOTEL in Karkand and waited for a guy to spawn (I had full health).  He spawned and I stood right behind him, put my pistol to his head and had to pull the trigger 3 times before he went down.  I then stood there and let the guy spawn and kill me.  He shot me ONCE.  He put a note up that said that he's been "One shot, One Kill(ing)" me for half the game.

Now then, I know nobody is THAT good...especially since half his shots were taken from a position where we could barely see each other.  I mean, come on, how is it that we're both prone, and I see the nice "X" show up about 6 times and he doesn't die, then I watch my health stats go to zero, and I die in ONE SHOT?

Now then, I agree with the other side.  Sometimes you have a bad day, sometimes you just suck.  Sometimes I'm both.  I'm not a great player, and I don't have the time do devote to become a "great player".  This is a game to me, but when I see crap like that it makes me not want to play anymore.

What keeps me from not playing on-line anymore?  THE STUPID A$$ AI THAT EXISTS FOR SINGLE PLAYER MODE!  How is it that the opponent AI is so darn smart, but your guys can't even drive a vehicle!  Oh well, sorry for the OT Rant.

O really? That is why I feel surrounded by Hackers!
If they were hacking they would fire 2 shots to the head every time. 1 shot would just do some damage.
1 shot to the head is enough with many weapons. AK47, AK101, G3, any sniper rifle, pump action shotty, ... and others. Look it up on the Wiki.

i dont care what any of you think, or want to say in regards to what i have to say... i have played this game for 1214 hours...  i have a spm of over 3, and a k/d of over 3...  I have enough experience and time in the game to realize when something is normal, or when something is fishy...  the past few days i have to agree, there are A LOT of people hacking this game,  its not quite counterstrike bad, but it is bad none the less...  since this game has been out, its been hacked, but lately ive noticed it more in the infantry only maps...  no vehicles + aimbot = interent superstar...  So my adivce is dont waste your time on a lot of those infantry only servers... its turned into the cess pool of Bf2 hackers...  As for me im just not gonna play that mod, and hopefully all the lil hackers leave the normal game and stick to the infantry only mod...

Also I do have one question on this topic...  Lately i have noticed since the patch that sometimes an eryx blows up a tank with full health, but most of the kids that do it hae a horrible score in the game,s o i doubt they hack, but i was just curious if anyone else has been noticing some odd occurances since the patch

in regards to the pistol thing, i was in a server 2 nights ago where a kid kept hitting me with one shot to the head literally sniper distance away...  knocked down to 2 bars of health with one pistol shot...  and you may ask how i knew it was a pistol, i had a clanmate on the other team standing over the guy to watch him adn his movements,, i was stafing behind a hill out of sight of him, and my clanmate relayed over TS that he was tracking my movement without line of sight....  so as far as i can tell... a pistol headshot knocks you down to 2 bars of health... no one shot one kill on it... but damn close enough...

Everytime it is the same procedure. I am on full health. I see an enemy. The enemy sees me, jumps to prone position and while he is "in Flight" he fires one shot. It doesn't matter what weapon. It's either Pistol, Submachine Gun, Shotgun, LMG, Carbine, whatever. He fires one shot and I am dead.

I feel cheated. Is there anyway for normal players to detect Hackers / Cheaters and proof it. You know, like running a seperate software in  the background, while playing BF2? I know I can report any suspicious Issues, but I like to present proof, when I accuse someone of cheating / hacking.

just because you see him jump into prone then shoot doesnt mean that on his screen he hasnt
already seen you and proned.. what you see isnt exactly 100% real time. Therefore he may have

I will tell you this much though..  even though you might hear differant, the most popular hack/cheat
for this game that came out 8 months ago is still being used today and punkbuster has done nothing
to stop it.  This hack/cheat has been downloaded over 1800 times.

Punkbuster is a sham, just soemthing to make us all feel like we're protected. Well, perhaps protected
on relase date back 15 months ago, but since then, ZERO effort to keep it up.  Of course they'll
say differant, but effort and result are 2 differant things.

I have seen two tanks blow up for no reason at all since the patch.  One I had wrenched back to health and it just blew up.  No TV missile or anything.  The other tank ran into a wall and blew up.
