How many of you would rather have the tanks in bf2 take 2 to man. One being the driver and one being the comander (gunner). No, I'm not asking to nerf, and I'm not bitching about the how unrealistic it is. I have just been playing Red Orchestra and if you get voip or some other program of the like, it can be quite fun. I realize it was in 1942 (i never played it) and I realize they took it out because it was hard to get teamwork, but when it works in can be really fun. I was wondering how many would like to or prefer dual-man tanking.
Sure, until you get the guys asking for a reloader.
Mind you,you could get team points, lets say 1 team point for 15 tank shell reloads.

Last time I checked, the tank had 2 seats already. One for the main gun, one for the 50 cal. So, dual-man tanking exists!
ah yes but then you are calling upon the good of man.
I dont really like when a person gets in the gunner seat, cuz once I get out to repair, they steal my tank
Yeah, I'd prefer that my truck get 60 MPG as well but it's a bit late to ask them for it now.....
it sounds like a good idea, i guess it would kinda be like the chopper/su-30 where u just have to try be on the same wavelengh. so it would work well if u had two decent players, and not so well if u had two muppets

I think that would be freaking awesome. It would be a bf idea, seeing that it would require serioius teamwork to function. But then again, that would be its downfall as well, trying to cordinate with someone else in combat. As a LAN going guy, I'd be up for such and idea; too bad it wouldn't happen though.
"Hey, Jon, turn the tank around to the left, apc on our 9 o'clock! Dude, WTF, I said left, left!"(Drives forward into wall)

Would mean that if u the only one in a tank that u would have to switch to gun all the time when u see an enemy..BolvisOculus wrote:

maybe not the tanks although I hate them, but APC's would be nice to go back to the original way like they were in vietnam, and seat 1 is driver and seat 2 is gunner.
As I find APC's more annoying.

I know what he meqans and I know why it would never happen.aardfrith wrote:

It is like pulling teeth to be a commander and get ANYONE to do what you want. Good luck trying to get two people to agree on anything in this game.
what i think would be cool is the arty system that was in 1942. That was freakin awesome
Just another reason for people to get p/o at noobs. You'd get a noob driver, and he would start fooling around and messing you up. I like it the way it is, you can go where ever you want to and still kill enemies.
And even if you had a driver, they wouldn't go where you want, just like medics don't heal you and Humvee/Vodnik drivers don't pick you up.

Right, that's the problem with BF2 is that no one cares that much about teamwork so I'm afraid it probably can't be changed to this. But when it does work it can be very fun.ryan_14 wrote:

Its a realistic idea definately, but I dont know how easy it would be to function. Say you get a good tank driver, but the guy that operates the cannon just fires at random shit, or nothing at all, or vice versa, a good shooter, but a idiot driver.
It works for Attack Helicopters, why cant it work for Tanks?{BMF}*Frank_The_Tank wrote:

Perhaps they could add a new vehicle thats along these lines, that would be interesting.
i would like to have a Commandpost Carrier Go go go !!! for the Commander

Youve actually got a pretty good point, I retract my previous statement. Although Im still unsure if I would like it.....might actually make it easier to take out tanks lol.LT.Victim wrote:

What
that would have to be the most annoying thing for me in bf2rofllolz0rz wrote:

I hate having another person in my tank anyway. Kill thieves... well the 2 kills per round they usually get anyway because only lance corporals do that usually.
I think its a good idea, make the tanks and APC's like the Attack chopeprs...
So many ppl complain about the strengths of some kits and yet a single person can operate a tank and all the relative strengths of the kits means squat.
It would make it more realistic, mabye the driver could operate the machine gun, but not the big arse cannon etc.
It would force a bit of teamwork into much needed areas.
