i love how you act more mature than i do, yet you still resort to swearing and name calling when someone disagrees with you. all i said was that whoever said that has just as much right to say what he wants in the game as you do.
how do i have a chip on my shoulder when i'm arguing my point of view? just because my opinion differs from yours doesnt mean you have to take offense to it, start saying i have a chip on my shoulder, or start calling me a dumbass. last i checked, you werent alive for WW2 either, so arguing that i'm only 20 really has no relevence when the subject at hand dealt with the holocaust. how was i patronizing you? i certainly wasnt agreeing with you but i was also being respectful...not attacking you personally like you just did to me.
a game. something that makes no matter on real life. leave it at that. everything that goes on in BF2 has no bearing on the real world. if people want to make jokes, let them. its not real.
ironic you bring up bill hicks whilst talking about being politically incorrect.
its a shame you have to be so narrow-minded so that when someone disagrees with you on a rather trivial topic, you lose your cool and cant even fathom how there could be two views on the subject. sure looks like youve learned a lot in your extra 11 years of life.
you want patronization? there you have it. at least now im living up to some of the names you called me.
pwned...
now, as far as the original post is concerned ( let's try to keep this on-topic ), there is no indication that EA can ban you for live for swearing on public servers, even if it's ethnic slurs. It may sound funny, but EA sells Video Games and only can sanction actions that contradict the EULA, for example cheating, stats-padding, illegal copying, etc..
I don't think political correctness is part of the EULA as of now.
Freedom of speech is a very delicate topic. As has been said, every country has its own laws about it.
IMHO, The american version is a bit more "loose" ( sorry, I can't find a better word for it right now ), i.e. it will allow people to say things that would get them in jail here in germany, for example.
As ThomasMorgan has said, it's a video game and has no meaning in real life. Is it sad that this guy made those comments ? Absolutely. Were these comments wrong ? Yes. Do I support them ? No, absolutely not. Should he be banned from that server ? He should be. Would I ban him from these forums if I saw him making those comments here ? you bet...
But has he violated the EULA ? Not that I know of...
I am not going to elaborate on the Freedom of Speech issue. Remember, we are discussing BF2 here.
