Ive just started to command again and i noticed that i wasnt getting points for arty kills. its been a while but i thought they gave points for that. if that isnt true anymore than how do you get points as a lay down commander?
no kills dont count since v1.03
apparently its your teams average score, so you better have a good team, else youre fucked
so this kind of discurages lay down commanding abit. Thats too bad cause i think its the best way (if you have a compitent team) to possativly help your team. Ive tried stand up but find that i get way to involved with the small firefights and forget that i have to be watching what other squads are doing and be ready to help them with arty, supplies, uav. Oh well, ill adapt, thanks for the info Patton..:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

As commander, you NEVER got points for Arty kills - never. The commander score is an average calculated based upon your teams score. As of yet, it seems no one has been unable to uncover how that aqverage is calculated.
Now, before the 1.03 patch, arty kills DID show up as kills for the commander, but they did not add to his score directly. They may have added to his score indirectly if the commander score is partly based upon enemy kills. The reason for the change is that commanders no longer get TKs for friendly kills for arty, thus they took away the kills for enemies.
HOWEVER, they are still counted as kills for awards. If you need a specific number of kills for a specific award, they will count. At least, they count for awards where the kills must be in a round - don't know if they apply to global kills. I have received several awards as commander this way - after the 1.03 patch.
So, in response to your statement, it doesn't matter what you do as a commander (directly), your points will be the same. It does matter, greatly, what you do - indirectly. By helping your team capture flags and spotting enemy for them to kill, the commander points will increase.
