- gee i never know when i shot the zip line.
Here is what you do. First before shooting zipline right click and if you get the double circe symbol. (some as when an engineer gets when they have a wrench out pointed at something they can repair.) then the target is within range.
Second turn on your night vision and see if their is a black line extending from the pole on your roof to whereever.
Finally don't jump off the roof and try to connect to the zipline. just stand next to the pole on your roof and press e. You add a couple seconds to your trip, but your gauranteed not to fall off the roof and die.

lol thx
I hate the zip line, i always get shot going down it or.... I shoot it at the target i can hit and my mouse jumps so i make it go haywire and all hell brakes loose to the point suicide is my only chance to get anywhere.
I've only been shot off the zipline once, but shot people off of it many times. The trick is to check your surroundings before using it.
As to the glitch whatever. I've never had that happen. So it's probably a glitch like the longer load times. Effects some people, but not all.

One of your mistakes is that you shoot the zip and JUMP off the building
Pressing 'E' next to the zipline and you will automatically slide down. This is helpful if you're on a nightmap and are unsure of whether you have deployed it or not. Worst case scenario is that you hit 'E' and nothing happens.

yeah, the zipline....sonofabitch. whenever im standing near the edge of a building and i fire it...i just fall off the building. its not like im standing on a railing or something...but whenever im within like three feet of the edge...bam...fall to my death. so lame.
Hm... I don't seem to have that problem, but I think I've only used the zip maybe a half dozen times, so I'm not that experienced with it. One problem I have run into though is firing the zipline from behind the railing. When you try to get on the zip the railing seems to be in the way and you can't slide. If i pick up the zip and try again with the pole on top of the railing, nothing is in the way and it slides fine. Damn inconvenient if you're in a hurry
Never had that problem eithr. again must be one of those problems that happens to some and nother others.ThomasMorgan wrote:

I agree jodah it can annoying when something gets in your way. Another example i s on devil's perch. From the top of the mountain you can shoot the zipline down to the bottom just fine but if you try to ride it you hit the mountain and isattached. Though if you instead go and use one of the stone ledges lower down it works fine. Funnily enough though you can't go thru walls or rails atthe begining of the zipline you will slide right thru them at the end of it.
or that you do slide down, but straight into a knife held by an enemy.Jodah3 wrote:

it because if u look at the zipline after its all setup for you to use there is a big ass pole in the floor, when this apears its pushing u to make room for the pole, and bye bye ur getting pushed off the roofThomasMorgan wrote:

I've never been killed whille using the zipline. people have tried to shoot me many times. Even when i'm sliding directly towards the enemy they can't kill me. I consider myself as bulletproof or very very lucky
Ive been on top of a building and seen someone shoot a zip line from below me a few stories to the building next door. so I jumped off and fell a few seconds the hit the zip line and connected to it . to me it would make more sense for the sniper to have the hook rather then the zip so they could get into places above that you normally cant get to.. they can always jump off and hit the silk for a fast get away
Absolutely, the grappeling hook would be way more usefull.RadeonII wrote:

i've had this happen before as well.
I shoot my zipline, stand there without doing anything, and then all of a sudden fall of the edge of the building while waiting for the zip line to attach...
must be some kind of bug.

Yes but most of those higher places can be gotten to with the zimpline as well. But anyway i think ea gave the sniper the zipline instead for two reasons.McCullough wrote:

1. It inspires team work because to get to that better spot you might need an assault or at guy with the grapple.
2. If a sniper is spoted he need to make a fats qet away. The zimpline offers a speedy escape as well as the ability to place yourself near your new spot of attack.
I never understood why the AT guy gets a grapple hook. Would make more sense for them to have flashbangs since they don't have any grenades.
So how do you go up with the zipline ?Blankwindow wrote:

simple most of the high places without ladders have a building that is taller than them. For instance the second tellst building in the city part of the warlord is onlthe tv by excessible by grapple or by zipline from the tv station.
there ae examples in other maps too lazy to name them. to answer your question directly you can't go up with the zipline but you can get down to almost all of the talles tbuilding. And almost always the tallest building on the map will have a stair or ladder to get ot he top and from it down to others.

wtf is a zimpline?
that would be called a typo. It's when you mess up while typing. I make quite a few of them but if you can't understand that zimpline was a typo while typing out zipline then you have bigger problems than my bad typing skill.
omg do not deploy a zipline close to the edge of a building!! you get pushed off lol
