for some reason all of a sudden it does not want to work. it works out side of BF2 and yes i made sure VOIP is enabled.

beats me man, it was cheap and has a mic so got it. im sure its not the problem though. i works in ms sound recorder.
sound effects manager is a start. (in control panel) Disconnect and restart comp, then connect mic and set it up again. happened to me and doing what i just said fixed my problem.
