i just got a new computer. its a toshiba m70 'FE5' laptop. i just got BF2 to play, but it wont install it correctly.

i put in disc 1, it installs up to Fhushe_Pass (sp?), then asks for disc 2, i put in disc 2 and my disc drive starts up like it will continue, then it stops...i keep retrying to install it but it wont work.

ive closed down all antivirus and closeable background programs, and i uninstalled the dvd burning program on the computer as well.

this also happened to the computer just before this one. same model and everything. i thought it was a problem with the disc drive or something, so i brought it back to the store to have it thoroughly checked out. they couldnt find anything at all wrong with the computer. they tried to install the game on a computer that was less powerful in everything but for RAM than my computer, and it installed and ran fine...

my computer's specs are:

Processor Type:       Intel Pentium M 740  1.73ghz
RAM:                       512MB DDR2  (ive got 2-1gb sticks coming tomorrow so it will be 2gb)
Hard Drive:       100GB 5400RPM HDD S-ATA
Graphics:       ATI Mobility Radon X700 256MB
Disc Drive: DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive supporting 11 formats
                maximum speed and compatibility:
                o CD-ROM(24x:read), CD-R(24x:write), CDRW(
               4x:write), DVD-ROM(8x:read), DVD-R(8x:write),
               DVD-RW(2x:write), DVD+R(4x:write), DVD+R[Double
               Layer](8x:read/write), DVD+RW(2.4x:write), DVDRAM(
               4x:write)

as far as i know, that is sufficient to play the game, and i cant figure out why it wont let me install it.

ive read and read, and searched for help before i posted this, but i havent seen anybody with identical problems to this.

id really appreciate the help on this one, as ive exhausted all of my means of help.

thanks in advance

Everything looks ok.. Have you done windows updates?

Are all your drivers up to date?

Is DLA ON or OFF?

Right click on your DVD drive to find out... DLA should be on. (DLA = Double Layer)

Update your DVD drivers
