Advise for the Expert Engineer Badge

well, i'm sure people think this badge is hard to get and i tell you, i have just got mine right now. 100 tickets into a game, i thought oh hell i've already got 3 repair points, i'll try for my expert. I'l give you some tips:

Jeeps!

i got most of my repair points via jeeps, they can withstand one sraw/eryx and alot of machinegun fire. drive around the map (i was in karkand suprise surprise) and when someone starts shooting at you, press F3 and start repairing. i must have got about 10 of my points repairing jeeps that where being attacked in high populated areas.

Follow the whores

stick with someone who is in a tank or an apc and you can get alot of points pout of them pproviding you do it well. If you tag along behind them in a jeep, when enemies start firing you can hop in the back and repair your jeep AND their apc/tank at the same time.

The Assets

if you ever see broken assets on the map (uav etc.) then always spawn there next or drive there, as each one is a 99% garanteed repair point.

remember, you only get points for repairing a vehicles if someone is inside it or if you are inside it.

hopefully this little mini guide will stop people padding to get the badge, and get it the right way.

Forget it. You gotta stat-pad / cheat to get it. Don't waste your time.

nah. On server with long rounds it very possible (not fun, not easy, but very possible).

Just be US-engineer on Wake when I'm on China sniping and requesting cartillery and honigmelone2 is Chinese commander(one of the best commanders I've ever seen).
Usually the arty is destroyed after a few minutes in the round and stays down for the rest of the round.
Spawn on arty isle and repair like crazy.But choose a good spot when standing at the arty - otherwise you'll just end up as easy sniper kill points on my scoreboard.

I got it without stat-padding. It was Kubra Dam, I'm on Mec. All you have to do is be engineer and hide by the arty. The US team rolls up destroys all 4 and look, you get 5 repair points for it. Make your way to the UAV/SCAN and repair them and by that time the arty's gone again. Easially get Expert because Kubra always takes forever to finish.

nearly got it tonight except the CTD kept ruining it

MEC commander kept dropping vodniks on the arti .... and I was there repairing them with another engi ... waste of vodniks two engi's can get the arti back up and runing fast.

Flip a boat against a dam on fushe pass. You get 2 repair points each time before it explodes. Do that on a 64 player server with about 30 people and its very easy to get.

I got mine on Iron Gator while the MEC apc kept killing our essex gun I kept repairing it and shooting down choppers.

Yes. The is no way to fix the boat and you are not engaging in battle. It does not help the team(just makes the boat un-avalible for the rest of the team) witch is the whole point of repair/heal/supply pts, you get them for helping the team. There is some luck involved repairing something that is getting sustained attacks but 20 repair points is very possible.

It could be argued as not being stats padding as he/she is NOT affecting the course of the battle, just like somone who is afk for the round.

However, since they are getting them self point's via exploit there can be no dening it is infact stats pad, however, from my experience, the gold silver and bronze awards usually require +50 on a large server, ofcourse depending on the map, if you did the jeep thing on klarkand i doubt wu will snatch a gold from the tank whores.

Still, I say theres more satisfaction in getting it 'properly' however at some point u will realise its just a colour change on a silly awards page from silver to gold..........................

Having players AFK(away from keyboard) is stats padding too IMHO. I got banned from a server when I relized that they the clan had stacked the teams with 3 or 4 AFK accounts to keep the server running. If you got stuck on the wrong side your fighting 7 players on 4 player and there is no chance of winning the round cause you have no support and you can't keep up with the number of times they kill the AFK players. To me just one player not involved in the fight can inbalance a server, but there are so may other things in the game that create bigger imbalaces(cough*J-10*cough) that most of the time it does not matter. Anyway my point is it does affect the course of the battle however small it is.

The number one thing you need to do is find a 64 man server with about 20-30ish people on it. Then it's all basically luck. I got my veteran the other night luckily because they had some spec ops that kept going after our arty so I would just keep repairing it. I luckily got the last repair point I needed and the badge when I was the last one alive as Chinese and they had all the points. Then I basically suicided because by the end the server was full and they had a great heali pilot. It was me against their whole team, by the time I'd even neutralized a point, they knew where I was and would kill me in seconds, luckily I went out in style and got 2 kills out of it.

Play Iron Gator, Ghost Town or Road Rage for the badge. It took me a while to get it since you need to find a oppurtunity and keep fixing it the whole round because you nearly got to be fixing all round long to get the badge.

i think i got 9 repait points just repairing the AA on the ship. lol

but i wont get 20 or whatever the expert badge is.

Yup,that's the legit way to get it.
People thanked me on Wake when I was Chinese Commander.
It's actually really simple,on every map where you can be sure that the enemy team will disable the assets - just go repair them instead of the usual "rally round the flags".

People who need to stat pad for that don't seem to understand the easiest things.
Maybe playing on a full 64player server instead of the lame 16player disaster scenarios can help here.
