1. I agree in principle about the balance issues. Maps that mix J-10s with F35Bs are a slaughter. The only semi-successful technique I have been able to pull with the F-35Bs is high altitude dive bombing. Yet, I find the F-35B a fun experience, and the thrill of attempting to evade the J-10s much exhilarating.Aardcore wrote:

2. There have been many instances throughout history where American planes were not the best out there, yet American pilots managed to surpass those odds. Funnily enough, during the cold war many of the planes made in America were over designed because of the suspicion that Soviet and Chinese planes were way better than what they ended up being. Having said that, BF2 takes very extended licenses between reality and actual game balance. If you want to complain about a gap in planes, go look at the watered down A-10 in Armored Fury. Not even close to the real thing in ANY aspect, yet, the planes in AF are pretty well balanced (unlike the F-35B issue in vanilla BF2). Although it was a downer for me to see that the A-10 was extremely fragile and under-armed, I was happy to see that balance wise it looked OK.
3. The issue with the missiles, the J-10 and the F-35B has to do with the turning ratio and other performance issues in between the planes at different heights. The J-10 has the best empirically tested stats of all planes, plus some magical resilience to air to air missile fire. The F-35B is at the other end of the spectrum, being notorious for having a very poor turn ratio and taking missile fire very badly.
exactly, it's quite ridiculous how many people just camp for planes. I always start the round on the carrier to see if i can get a plane, if not, i don't cry and stand around like a jack ass, i hop down to get a boat and head to the Airfield, works 99% of the time, unless you actually have a J-10 pilot that cares about Teamwork instead of raping the carrier (damn you!)usmarine2005 wrote:

J-10 its a Russia production like MIG and SU.I just dint know wy EA put J-10 in this game.Its a history from 1960.Russia dont make thous jets anymore.Russia have the same plane like f35 its YL.They can remove that old shit J-10 and reaplase with YL and no complain!
I enjoy flying the jets in BF2 but they are lacking in so many ways. The flight models are a joke. Drop the throttle to zero pull the nose up and still the jet accelerates for few seconds. The F-15 is the top rated fighter ever (104-0 in air to air kills) but its the worst jet in BF2. I say instead of mixing the types of jets in the rounds fix the flight models to more accuratly represent the real jets.
The only jets balanced out are the bombers added in Armored Fury, they both handle extremely well, DANGEROUS in the hands of experts and professional bombers as well as dogfight engagements when trailing enemy bombers and they're just all sorts of fun. As for the planes in 'vanilla' eh... not so much, if I'm ever USMC, I'm not flying planes unless I hijack the enemy's, I can't stand USMC jets.
shoot, my little brother plays Wake all the time. All he does is J10. He owns the server at every round. Pisses off the U.S. side so much that they don't even bother getting on the damn island. You might I have played against him. sheen1101
Ground pounders seem to hate jets already. They'd be much worse off with more jets in the air, because only a few would bother fighting eachother and the rest would mercilessly slaughter any vehicle on the ground.
And on maps like Wake the US would really have no chance against more J-10s, unless they were given some F-18s.
Personally I hate the J-10. It's a boring jet. There's very little chance of getting shot down even if you're just an average pilot, like me. I have more trouble with UAVs. And when you do get shot down you feel like you've failed at something that was supposed to be ridiculously easy. Shooting down a J-10 in an F-35 feels like getting a party together and going in FFXI, in short: jubilation. That's way more fun. But oh well.
