At the start of the round my PC lags a bit as it loads every thing but thats all unless I'm using 99% of my ram.

~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
Well I had that problem too... but don't take my advice how to fix it...
1st -> uninstall BF2
2nd -> restar PC
3rd -> install BF2
4th -> install SF
5th -> install patch 1.3 "Full not Incramental"
6th -> retrieve your account
7th -> try it out A.S.A.P
But this is what I did to fix my problem.

Yeah, I have a 1 gig of ram and if i have winamp & other background applications open it causes my bf2 to lag a bit as it is at 99% usage, you can try lowering your graphics and shutting down other applications. that may help. but it will lag for 30 seconds or so at the start.

Does the game lag ingame at all once you say 1/2 way into a round?

Only in spots i havent been. Like if i spawn at hotel on sharqi, then we lose it and i spawn at tv then it will lag, but only once

thats a weird case of lag, to me it sounds like PC lag, what are your graphics set at?

all the bf2 settings are the default. Except theres 1 that i turned from 90% to 100%
It's not just you, happens to me too, just recently, within the past couple weeks
It happens to anyone who has less than 1.5gb of RAM. Computer has to swap everything else besides current Battlefield map/game data out of RAM when the map loads, 'cos you physically only just have enough RAM to put it all in. Swapping is a slow process ('cos it uses the harddrive), so you get the jerks.
With 2gb of RAM you will never see this problem, unless you have a whole lot of crap running in the background eating all your RAM.
You can minimise the problem by disabling the startup movies, the menu-background movie, and making sure any memory intensive process is properly closed before you start playing.

Thats what i was going to suggest, to do that do the following:
CTRL + ALT + DEL to open the task manager
from there if you click on the user tab it will list all the procceses
Processes with your username can be close execpt explorer.exe and taskmanager.exe
This will free up alot of RAM for bf2 which will as above stop the jerkyness of the program. so give that a try and see if it works.
Also if you have a g15 keboard close all the LCD apps to sav 100 + RAM
