Whenever I cross a road or am near friendly vehicles I press my vehicle enter button. I rarely get teamkilled by being run over now and I've had a few times where a guy has deliberately tried to run me over only to find when he stops the vehicle and gets out I'm there and I've shot him in the head.

s'decent enough advice, if you always play Karkand. I'd still be going with the tried and true LOOK AT YOUR FREAKING MINIMAP method. But that's just me.

Look left. Look right. Then look left again.
When the road is clear, then you may cross. No jaywalking, straight across the road.
