Commanding + Badges..

Can you be a commander but still earn badges (such as BASIC KNIFE ) ? It's been bugging me for a while as I don't know if you can or not. I did once get 6/7 knife kills as a commander - and was just wondering if I wasted my time? My knife ratio does go up but I don't know if I will be awarded the medal.

I play 1.3 by the way!

yeah u can ... it won't go towards your score in that game... but it will count towards medals

Not knife/pistol, you can earn the kit badges as commander with arty and AA, Ground Defence badges as commander

I don't think he is talking about using arty ... in other words, I don't think he is wants to (a) hold out his knife and (b) kill 7 people with arty. (this approach won't work).

I think he was talking about actually going and killing people with the knife while being commander ... because then he can have the advantage of UAV and "eye of God". (Which, IMO, at best is not using the commander position for the good of the team ... and, at worst, might get you accused of something unethical).

He would be a lame commander knifehunting with the uav but the knifekills would count towards the badge !

I don't consider it statpadding as I'd still be giving my squads strict orders. When I get basic, I will probably get veteren at the same time. Will just have to knife 7 morons when they aren't looking"

veteran does not have a in round req. for the knife anymore so you will just get you vet knife when you score a pt after EA has updated that you got the basic badge.

Easy badge. Go on Ghost Town (if you have SF) and be Spec Ops or Assault. If your Spec Ops then zip down to buildings where snipers are and take them by suprise or if your assault blind people.

The new requirements are a bit stupid I think. Its too easy to get expert now, 100 Knife kills is easy to get, I really enjoyed trying to get 18 kills.

I agree I will have my expert in the next week or two. And I have only really been trying to get more knife kills for a month. With how little I get to play its really sad.
