I am going for an eye checkup so that the docs can see my floaters. Anyone knows whats that machine called to look inside my eye? Is it painful?
they use a lot of machines, an auto refractometer that you just kinda stare into and it goes blury (in and out of focus), which shoots and IR beam into your eye and measures your response to get an estimate on your perscription.  They usually also do an air puff test (that tests for guacoma) and it doesnt really hurt, you just kinda jump back.

dialation is a bitch though lol, it'll give you a look into the future ( cuz when everythings all blurry thats what you'll see like when your 60)

South East Asia, eh? Make sure the doc is legit. You don't want to wake up in a bathtub full of ice with stitches where your kidneys were and a note saying go to the doctor or have your eyeballs scooped out and sold on the Chinese black market.

What?

I never liked the air puff glaucoma test.  I always insist that they use the applicator test, where they actually touch an element to the surface of your eye to determine intra-ocular resistance.

And I don't know about the quality or standards of care in southeast asia.  I've only gotten my eye checked up at Stanford since I was born.

Hi..

The worst bit I reckon, is where they dilate the pupil. Makes your eye go all weird and you cant look at bright light for ages.

At least, that was my experience as a traumatised 4 year old..

If you have floaters or dots or whatever doesnt that just mean you suffer from too less sleep...

And I have seen on tv it does make a difference who checks your eye's, a doctor or a company... oh wait, that wasnt about floaters right...
