Practice in single player to get your self acquainted with using the knife until you’re confident. Then jump into a Karkland map. Practice practice practice.

I got my 7th and last IAR knife kill with the MEC force having 4 tickets to go on Karkand (US had about 30) and it was a gunner in a humvee that I knifed....jumped right to veteran badge cause I had the 50 kills too....I havent gotten the first sergeant promotion yet because I havent played since that last round
btw, I dont think I have to 'hold my points up' because I havent gotten the knife kills.....as soon as I get it, it will recognize I have the 20,000 and give the promotion to me as soon as I start a new game, right?
that means I would never get a promotion again if this was true

Ummm littlehayes, you will never be a First Sergeant ... you got the knife badge after the 20,000 and your promotion to Master Gunnery Sergeant. You cannot be promoted from Master Gunnery Sergeant to First Sergeant (it is one or the other when you hit 20,000).littlehayes7 wrote:

Get it as commander. Scans, UAV's, overhead view of the world for God's sake. Everything a sneaky bastard needs. Can even get a few arty kills to make up for all those deaths you'll get while knifing. Who cares if you lose one round that way.
P.S. Watch out for enemy commanders. They stay still, but if they're any good they'll see you coming for miles and ambush you.

it took me 2 rounds to get my badge but i did it on karkand, i just sprinted and stabbed, i also got 2 purple hearts trying to get it
