Hi guys.

I wanna get this straight.

Is SF worth the money, or what?

Is it good or bad?

warlord is my favorite map now.  sf took me a few days to really get into, but i love it now.  it's also worth the money because you get 2 unlocks per rank.

IMHO its only really worth it for the 2 free unlocks (which can be obtained for free if someone who has it plays with your account for 1 round) - Since I got the unlocks I've not played it atall. - Depends if youv'e got £20 to spare

Yes. It's more infantry and squad-based but not completely avoidant of BF2's vehicle structure. Good maps too.

well i played sf for the second time just to try out (first time was to just get my 2nd unlock). it seems differnt i guess but all to similiar. the new maps are a good change from wake lol. those grapple hooks and ziplines add a new dimension to the game but there seems to be snipers everywhere now so i gotta be more cautious in sf. i wouldnt know if it was worth it cuz it came with my reg bf2 in the deluxe package.

Although I have not played SF as much as regular BF2, I think it is definately worth the money.  The maps are very good, and there are whole new tactics that you have to learn in order to be proficient (you have to deal with grapples, zip-lines, gas, etc.)    On some maps (like Iron Gator) you must use squads to really be effective.

Bottom line:  if you love infantry, then you'll love special forces.  If you play BF2 for the jets and helo's ... possibly even the armor... then you probably will not like SF that much.

The only downside is, indeed, you get a lower FPS ...

Special Forces would be hard to justify for unlocking the tier-two guns alone, but for the SF maps and gameplay? Definitely in my opinion.

Some great infantry action on a number of the maps (Warlord, Ghost Town, Iron Gator, Devil's Perch) and if you're into attack helicopters it's got to be a winner. As mentioned the ziplines and grappling hooks add an extra dimension to the gameplay, as does the night fighting, although most people don't seem to like it. With the no-vehicle mode on the horizon I think many of the maps are going to become absolute classics as far as intense infantry v. infantry combat goes.

It is quite a bit more laggy for me than normal BF2 too; I had to go down to 800 x 600 and turn a few options to lower settings too.

why are people talking about buying the game for the unlocks??
you don't need the game for them (just play 1 round).
If you havent played SF for more then 20 hours you really cant have an informed opinion (unless your a plane whore).

If you love team play, infantry and the idea of being able to scale any building then SF is a must. It offers better maps, generally better players and more team work. If you like to whore points (in anyway... but mainly karkand) then SF reallies not going to suit your playing style.
what maps do you like from vanilla? Sharqi and mashtuur are probably the closest maps to what SF offers, a mix of great infantry with the occasional vehicle to make things interesting.

For the price I think its well work purchasing, but don't get it for the unlocks, get it for the maps and game play.
