Amazing mod. I really had no idea they could pull off something this good. Most fun I have had playing BF2 in a very long time. It reminds me exactly how I felt when I first started playing BF2.
On one hand I'm kinda bummed that it isnt ranked, but on the other hand it will change the gameplay for the better when people have nothing more to worry about than winning the round. Speaking of ranked, make sure you uncheck the ranked server filter or you will not see any servers to join.
Do yourself a favor and give POE a spin, you will not regret it. It really is A+ material.

damn it...the extraction wizard isnt responding...anyone know why?
I enter the password and apprently it accepts...then a hour glass comes up and I check task manager and it says not responding.

Playing it was kinda weird. Very cool maps, but nobody was organized. Everyone was running around from flag (sounds like a game we know) to flag and that was about it. Also, since there is no UAV, all you hear is commander spam constantly.

That's due to the newness of the game. Most people are playing Assault and Medic because those two kits operate in a somewhat similar manner to BF2's "run and gun" gameplay. Give it a few days and people will begin learning how to use the other kits effectively, at which point it will be a more diverse gameplay.usmarine2005 wrote:

Fallen is a sexy infantry map btw. Orel pwns too. And Rolling Thunder.
There is one map (forget the name....the helicopter crash map) which takes place in a rolling forest. Lots of dense vegetation on a relatively flat but rolling topography. No vehicles at all for that map. At first I didn't know what to think but damn that map was cool. So unlike anything in vanilla BF2.
EDIT: yeah it was fallen. Looks so boring on the overhead view but god damn that is a fun map.

Everyone is praising some of these jungle maps, but some seem just as fun as Songhu Stalemate with an Infantry Only option. Some of the same people bashing the IO only option love these maps in PoE....very confusing.

EDIT: Cubivore, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but the way you say that makes it seem like a fact that it was "disappointing". As for the upset over the leak, it's mainly because people find it disrespectful to the devs to do so. The password itself makes it even more disrespectful. Hopefully 20ID wont be seeing any more testing copies of POE2 for a while.
