Did i mention i was ground from BF2 (well basically, they took the cd away from me) and well...its opened me back to life. Since i have AP bio and english honors i'll need the free time and stuff. So well, is this the end? they better have something good coming out with 1.4, or this POE download better work this time

It basically makes it so that you can play a game without the CD.

no it doesnt

its a small file... (20 megs?) around...     theres a program that acts as a "virtual" drive... you can see it in windows explorer and everything.. only ... its all software..

so your computer will see a drive.. w/ your bf2 cd in it... tadaa no cd needed

it can also be used to install files called iso's

so.. there IS a way to do it.. but honestly u should probably just study.... bf2 isnt worth doing bad in school.

Download daemon-tools (Free Virtual Drive Software) then go to gamecopyworld and search for BF2 NOCD and download the NOCD iso. Then just mount image and launch BF2. I never use the CD.

You didn't uninstall it, did you?

You don't even need ISO, you can use CUE or MDS...

I was told this by some tech guy I know, so just listen up.

Basically what Microsoft have been doing for the last 7 years is recording every disc that comes out of a software or music companies production line. They can make these records by the barcodes that are imprinted on the disc, to find the bar code look on the underside of the disc, between the clear plastic in the middle and the information section, there is a thin ring, this ring has something on that looks like a barcode. What will happen is whenever you try and boot up a programme (that you've installed via a CD) your CD drive will read this barcode, if it's not there or it's wrong a message is sent to MS head office, your OS is shut down, and it's likely that you'll be recieving a rather large fine from the company that you tried to pirate (EA are set at about 1/4 of a million per offence apprently).

So any ISO's or even back ups of games/music/software might be illeagal. I checked a few CD's and they all have these barcodes apart from blank CD's. Not sure if this is all true, but it makes sense, how it's going to work with companies that supply games from the internet to your hard-drive I don't know.

If anyone can confirm this is or disprove it speak up.

As I said, I'm not saying this is defiantly going to happen, but looking at all my Cd's including the first game I ever got ( C&C Red Alert) they all have these barcodes, and I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for a CD drive to check them. Also as all the big games houses (EA,Sony,Activation) are loosing literally billions every year because of pirates so it would seem logical that they push on Microsoft to stop them.
