Orlando here... Marathon must have a better power grid than Orlando. We lost power when Charlie, Frances and Jeanne hit us.
The reason is not that it's better but smaller. Frances sucked, it's was so slow.Darth_Fleder wrote:

Charlie did the most damage to us as it was the first hurricane to directly hit Orlando in 40 some odd years. The next two didn't knock down nearly as much. But yeah, Frances took nearly 24 hours to pass over us.
Oh I know..lolDarth_Fleder wrote:

I KNOW he meant dollars, this is an "American" forum. I'm not THAT stupid, even that it may look like I am sometimes.penguin.killer wrote:

No, 2000000 NOK. = 250k $ Ain't very much for an apartment in Oslo.
Charlie was some scary sh*t, it was projected to go right over my neighborhood. Thank god it decided to hit Punta Gorda (it's mean but Tampa Bay is more important than that place)
Ya chances are we'll just head downtown and take shelter in my moms office building
O and btw, I never thought I'd see anyone else posting a Stormteam 8 pic on these forums, lol!

On the west side about a mile or two off of Marathon are some bomb holes were the lobster like to hang out. However, last year the hurricanes filled most of them in. There's ton's of good spots about -like the 409 humps for dolphin, tuna and wahoo. Pops has that place on lockdown. We got a great spot 6 miles offshore (east) where we slam yellowfin snapper all day. There is another spot where, way back in the day, old spanish gallions used to dump thier ballasts (rocks) off of their ships. The result is several artifical reefs with thousands of round 8 pound rocks piled up. I love that place. Great diving. There is always a grouper hanging out ready to be shot. On a good day you can see the bottom 40ft down. Ah, good times.....:ronin:.|Patton wrote:
