i dont have SF yet (getting it for xmas) but i spent 1 hour downloading the patch, and when i go to play bf2, it just freezes. so i press ctrl+alt+delete and it says not responding so i have to exit it. any tips? do i need SF before i download the patch?
No idea, the patch should work fine for BF2 since everyone is supposed to patch. Try a reboot, if that doesn't help then it looks like you get to reinstall! *JOY*
After I installed the expansion and 1.12 patch my gameplay went to shit, seems like every thing is moving at half speed. I have un/re-installed the BF2 and Spec Ops and the Patch and I am having the same problem. Also formatted the machine to dump it of any potential conflicts.
uh oh... i hate new things. they are supposed to work but then they make things worse. and voodoo, im not reinstalling cuz it cost me 110$ the last time. the first time installing bf2, i had to take the computer in to get it fixed, now if it reinstall it, it wont work at all!

Try re-installing just BF2, not your whole Windows. At least that is what I'm assuming cost you $110!!! Where do you live? I'll re-install anything you want for $100
Might wanna check your graphics settings as well, cos 1.12 changes your settings back to default.
