Well, recently I've been wondering...

I'm kind of a car buff and I was wondering if anyone here knows if you (as a civilian) can get hold of a DPV...
I know in the States you can get about almost anything, but here in Europe, cool stuff is hard to come buy, especially american muscle cars and other boys toys...

so to repeat my question, does anyone here have any idea if it is at all possible to obtain one or simply "no"?

By the way, I have already come to know it's built by Chenowth Racing, but their site hasn't been updated recently and the info on there is not really helpful.  And their other civilian sandracers look kind of crappy compared to the DPV...

So any info would be, like, greatly appreciated...

buy one by all means.

but dont blame it on us when your put in jail for running over civilians shouting "yes 2 more points" and strapping c4 on it and ramming other vehicles.

Remember, you will get in trouble for putting machine guns on it as well.

if you really wanted to, u could have one built for u. Just pick up a running engine at a junkyard, and go to a company that fabricates custom frames and what not, as the DPV is just a frame.

I'm a car buff as well.

Upon research, it appears you cannot buy a military spec DPV. However, there is a civillian vehicle available that is pretty damn close: the DR2 1600. Check out Chenowth's site for that one.

As soon as I can afford it, I'm going to get one of those. And a few other cars...

yeah all a DPV is a rollcage with an engine and wheels, its dirt easy to make one yourself, lord knows i've made 3 so far, Dune buggies rock

Check out companies that build custom Sand Rails and you can probably have them fabricate one that is pretty close to the specs of a real DPV.

cool, I'll check out some leads...

and of course I'm not planning of mounting guns on it...
I want it for two reasons, the DPV frame looks way more sturdier than the civvies, plus the trays on the side are required for me, I'm planning (that is as soon as I get it) to make an adventurous road trip, like my brother did with his Ural bike....

Check out his links:

So as soon as I get me one, I'll just take off and see where the road takes me...

Hell yes! There's a DPV just outside my apartment building owned by some dude that lives in this complex I live in. Shit looks all crazy because I look at it and imagine the gun fastenings hooked up on the thing. I know it's owned by a military dude because it has a DoD sticker on it like my car so it probably goes in and out of the Air Force Base just near where I live as well.

Whenever that guy comes back and parks it up, I'll take a picture of it for you guys to see, but I know it's a DPV LOL
