Im personally not sure about Roy Keane as a manager in the championship, i mean he might do alright, but i think you should be more worried about that numpty of a chairman  Niall Quinn.  At the start of the season he was going on about how great sunderland are and how they are gonna dominate the championship this season with their squad - ooops, guess he didn't really think before he spoke there!, 5 games 5 loses.  Then he goes on about how there gonna be appointing a "world class manager", wtf??????.  Please tell me what qualifies Roy Keane as one of those???, does he have years of managerial experience??, i think not, has he actually done anything as a manager, no.  I agree he was a world class player, i respect him for that, but i can't stand how Mr Quinn has being going on, management is totally different to playing.  Quinny needs to learn to shut his mouth and just get on with his job, and hope for the best.

Of all the suprises in the Championship right now, we're the biggest CARDIFF CITY.  Sat proudly looking down at the great Roy Keane, Steve Bruce and Bryan Robson.  Bruce and Robbo IMO havent cut it, surviving only on money to spend, their tactically shit.  WBA (Robson) stayed up 2 seasons ago on the last day, infact it rested on the last few minutes.  When Brum went up they did it late on, maybe even penalties in the play off's, then eventually, fell back down.  All clubs managed by great ex United players.  If your a Sunderland fan all you can do is hope Keano sorts it out quick and has the right people behind them.

Anyway as for the really important bit, the league table.

http://home.skysports.com/leaguetable.aspx?cpid=10&clid=

Top of the league for at least the next 10 days.

Roy Keane was a really good player for Manchester and Ireland, but he is a shitty person.  I don't know if he is going to fit in the group or in any group at all.  Nobody likes him, he's like the Ironman from Black Sabbath.

Roy Keane a legend? He's a malicious small-minded footballer who was protected by Fergie. I hope he gets sack.

Look up Legend in the dicshunary and see what it says.  You may not like the guy but when 72k fans still sing your name when your no longer at the club must make you feel legendary.

Roy a shitty person ? Listen you don’t know a thing about him as a person, he has done brilliant charity work and supported lots of organizations like the guide dogs etc... He is one of the easiest players to approach for a fan and gives a lot of time and effort back into the community in Manchester and Cork. Most of his work off the field goes unnoticed unless you happen to live in an area where it’s evident. I happen to live in his home town and he has put a lot of time and money into the community.

On a separate post to my one above, what did Sunderland fans make of the game against West Brom ?

Was it because of his presence and decision to sign ?

of course he can do the job, Keane ftw (every former manchester united player is superb )

Maybe his presence did have the slightest of effects, in that the players wanted to perform to 100% of their abiliy in order to attain a place in the 1st team.  But TBH the current Sunderland squad despite their lack of ability always give 100%.  Also we historically have always had a slow start to the season,  maybe we are just kicking off our season now?? Perhaps its just a coincidence that it happened when Roy Keane was there.

On another note it seems that Dwight Yorke is going to sign for Sunderland and perhaps even Man Utd's Liam Miller, if Nial Quinn was still in charge there would be no way he would have attracted those kind of players.  I think its a testament to how highly Keane is respected by players and managers alike in the football world.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

The charity works is propaganda for the fans man, since he doesn't pay taxes for the charity he does.  If h's such an easy person, why they kicked from Ireland in 2002?  And as far as I know in Manchester he was Fergusson's protegee, coz most of his teammates didn't like him.

Erm, English is my first language. Don't assume. I typed too fast and didn't put in the 'ed'. Oh yes, the comma too. And of course, I didn't break the sentences up.

He's malicious because he stamped on that footballer, ruining his career. It was premeditated as he confessed in his book.

As for small-minded, do read his quotes:

How would you define a legend?

Are you defining him as a local legend? I can't see him as anything more than that. Then again, ManU is the biggest club in the world. Perhaps, pertaining to ManU only?

I reckon he's a local legend to Manchester, a legend in Ireland but not in Singapore.  Christ he only won just about everything there is to win except on the international stage.  He fell out with his current Boss Quinn at the Wc when Keano threw his toys at Mick, but due to the status the man carries, he has been handed his 1st job as an ex player.  He's not the water carrier, nor the boot cleaner, heck not even assistant or the fella who puts the cones out at training, no thats right he has the number 1 job, boss.  Why? Because of what he has achieved.  You dont become legendary for not achieveing do you?  Lots of people are famous in football but very few have their names sung once they have moved on.

Eh no it isn’t. I have witnessed first hand his charitable efforts as he grew up in my area. You just read a paper and believe what they say don’t you? A lot of his work is being a spokesperson and visiting hospitals, none of that is highlighted by the media which you are basing your whole inept argument.
His Man U team mates didn’t like him? You are incredibly naïve and you are making this rubbish up. Did you see his testimonial? Did you see the tributes paid to him by fellow pros? Even Vieira rated him as the player he most respected in England. You do know who Vieira is and there history against each other.
As for the Ireland mishap they didn’t kick him, Mick McCarthy kicked him. History has now shown up Mick for the manager he is and Ireland forgave Keane 3 years ago on his return and it’s hard to find an Irish person that still holds Keane solely responsible for Saipan. You really don’t know what you talking about do you.

I didn’t find you English baffling it was the content of the sentence that made no sense.
Every footballer has made a malicious tackle during their career, Keane was different because he admitted it. And Alfie career was not ruined, where did you get that from ?

I am arguing with people that have no idea and are basing their bullshit from the tabloid media and random crap plucked out of thin air.

U cant compare NFL to soccer. NFL is played in one country. Soccer is played all over the world. Thats like me asking you about some fantastic hurling player. All you've done is fuel the stereotype that americans are ignorant of anything thats not american.

Isnt Joe Montanna the actor from Ace Venturra that kissed the chick with the bad hemorrhoids.

Im kidding I know who he is.

I think a lot more Americans know who he is than you think. Like shall we say the millions of Irish descent and the other millions that know whats going on in the rest of the worlds sports. Or the other millions that would google first to learn about somethin before typing "who is he" into a forum
