"Fire and Forget" would seem to be true when using the RPG-7, its never going to be as good as the javelin anti-armour system which has a true lock-on, fire and run capability but we can get good results firing the RPG-7 and then dropping down or moving on so as not to present ourselves as a target after firing.

- RPG's are DEADLY
Are you talking about real life or in the game? In real life, the Javelin is a lock-on, fire and forget system. You lock the target, launch and leave the area or ready another missile. In the game, it is NOT a lock on, fire and forget system. In real life and in the game, the RPG-7 is NOT a fire and forget system because that term is reserved for "after-launch, self-guidance, with no user intervention" to the target.aFilthyJundie wrote:

An example of fire and forget in the game would be the Stinger AA missiles. You lock, fire, and walk away. (Especially since your odds of hitting anything are at about 7%.)

Sorry i should have re-worded that. I meant that you can fire, run, forget.
I know the RPG-7 has no lock-on at all, it was the phrase "fire and forget" that brought to mind the Javelin A/T system.

I LOVE THE RPG-7. I have been able to down about 5 choppers with that thing its awesome. LOL
Yes, much love to the RPG. Sure it's older / less sophisticated than the normal weapons, but it is a lovely lass when you use it right. It's like the G3. I remember everyone bitching about the G3 when they first unlocked it, and yet it is a beautiful gun once you get used to the ways a Battle Rifle handles differently to an Assault Rifle.
Btw; I was overjoyed by the new G36 weapons in SF. I was always a little sad that you couldn't unlock the other variants in vanilla bf2. The G36 weapons system is beautiful. *dreamy sigh*

Agreed. The modern weapons are nice, especially since I don't have to use the L85 anymore as a medic.he_who_says_zonk wrote:

Yes i have used almost all the g36 weapons in real and love em. Hell it's one reason i was playing spec ops more than anything once i found out how bad they fucked up the L851's accuracy. (this gun is actually quite qccurate in real life. but is shite at range in BF2.) but now with the g36e and m i'm back to playing a lot of medic and will be playing support more once i get around to unlocking that class fully.
I actually prefer the G3 over the F2000 in SF but the other way in Bf2 normal. The reason being is the flashbangs are quite handy in BF2 vanilla. But the F2000 is a decent weapon but when you put the gun vs gun (ignoreing the GL) the g3 will almost always win in combat if you know how to use it. Now to say i don't use the F2000 it can be great too.
Hell i think of all four g36 family weapons in the game the medic (g36e) is by far the best its the most accurate from my experience. though the K is still my favorite while playing sf since it has burst and auto.

Ya i've found it much much easier to take down the choppers on ghost town and to some extent iron gator with the rpg 7 because almost always you can wait till they stop to hover or if they are traveling in a straight line just arc it right into their window. hell one time i took out the pilot. Dunno if it was a glitch or something but the rpg hit sqaur in the side of the cockpit window next to the pilot and he died the gunner didn't atleast not until the chopper crashed. (they were low to the ground he had no time to recover. Boom trees...)
