Possible Fix To Ctd Trying To Join Game

there are a update for windows made to help karpesky, but it makes crash bf2 when u click JOIN SERVER.
if anyone have this problem unistall the kb917422 update, and post here if works or not.

now the only problem will be the crashing servers. ;·)

i think maybe ur updates are mixed like mine

I found one or two ways to fix that from PCGAMER magazine.
re-download the patch again as it could be corrupt and repatch BF.

OR install it manually.
Run the installer and when it says "Welcome to install shield wizard for bf2 patch" leave it in place, go to Start>Run and type %temp%. Open up the newest folder in the window that appears, which will have a randomly generated name, open the similarity titled folder inside it and press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C to copy all the files inside it. Open up your install directory. C:\Program files\eA Games\Battlefield 2 press Ctrl+V to copy them over, then run patch.exe.

If it still crashes BF2 can't cope with enforce display settings: ensure that your desktop settings are set to 800x600 with a refresh rate of 60Hz.

Or my favourite that works for me is: After loading and the join game button comes up wait 2-3 seconds for your computer to go quiet then it should load without a crash.

i heard it from other posts but it didnt work for me

works for me, i heard u wait a few seconds and check and uncheck the "auot ready" button until u hear it make noise then you should be good to click join game.

ive found a simple solution when the join game button shows up, have auto ready on clicked and just wait fer about 20-30 seconds and it automatically joins you, havent had one since i started doing that

IM TALKING ABOUT THE CRAS WHEN U PRESS JOIN SERVER(BEFORE IT LOADS), NOT JOIN GAME, there was a thead name mistake

but waiting30 sec u dont get any vehicle and all troops are respawned, so u cant use the not ready factor to capture flags

Yes but if the game has already started by the time you load a couple more seconds won't matter.
