Level 0 - OFF

Only a douche bag can't handle seeing "sware words" typed on a screen while in a game. If u don't like it then don't play online or don't look at it.

I feel that the language filters should be on the highest setting possible.  I find it very immature seeing these 10 year olds talking like a sailor just because it's a game, and they aren't acutally "Saying" it.  People curse more on in a game more than they ever would in real life, so why should I have to hear it?  It's not an issue that it slipped becaues you phyisically have to insert the text and hit enter to say it.  There is No reason for cursing at all, no matter how stupid someone is acting.

I would rather have the control on my own machine. There ought to be a way to turn on language filters for offensive text chatting AND players' names. I have friends with young teen age kids and they made that observation. I think racial slurs are insulting to everyone.

This way everyone is happy and can wallow in the level of filth they desire. So definitely Level 2 with Level 5. But I am sure someone would find a way to circumvent the resolution.

Its a game where one of the objective is to kill everyone in sight.
Its not the teletubbies.

its about war, and in war when your arm gets blown off you dont say "oh suger there goes my arm".

But, i would have to draw the line at anything that is racist.

I don't know why rather than kicking you for swearing, they just make a filter, so fuck becomes f*** or something like that.

Just because "teens know the words" doesn't mean they should use them. I'm sure they all know how to find a knife in the kitchen and stab people - but we don't want them too!

And the "its a violent war game" argument is balls - the big difference is the killing in BF2 is not (mostly) personal - but much of the bad language is personal.

I have no problem with "sorry I f**ked up, I fly like a c**t!"  (*'ed because not sure of forum rules) - but all the personal abuse be it swear words; the ever annoying noob; racist comments; or anything is just annoying.

As an old gamer the immaturity of many of the players sucks, and takes the fun out of the game, games are supposed to be a laugh, fun! some people need to chill out before they grow up to be psycho killers

Off. Swearing is a part of everyone's culture. We all do it and it is certainly core to anything military. Can you imagine getting through boot camp without being sweared at?

The furthest it should go is warn a few times for fuck, shit, cunt, fag, and racial slurs. Then kick. I swear in-game, but I don't go extreme like some children and adults do... "WHAT THE FUCK YOU FUCKING CUNT FAGGOT I FUCKING HOPE YOUR FAG ASS DIES". Lame, unimaginative insult, and players who say that usually suck and are a detriment tot heir team anyways.

Kicking for "noob" and the like is stupid though. Frankly the server should just replace the words in the filter with asterisks (fuck becomes **** or f**k, chink becomes c***k or *****, etc).
