Eh no it isn’t. I have witnessed first hand his charitable efforts as he grew up in my area. You just read a paper and believe what they say don’t you? A lot of his work is being a spokesperson and visiting hospitals, none of that is highlighted by the media which you are basing your whole inept argument.
His Man U team mates didn’t like him? You are incredibly naïve and you are making this rubbish up. Did you see his testimonial? Did you see the tributes paid to him by fellow pros? Even Vieira rated him as the player he most respected in England. You do know who Vieira is and there history against each other.
As for the Ireland mishap they didn’t kick him, Mick McCarthy kicked him. History has now shown up Mick for the manager he is and Ireland forgave Keane 3 years ago on his return and it’s hard to find an Irish person that still holds Keane solely responsible for Saipan. You really don’t know what you talking about do you.
Let's see.  When you do charity and igve money, that money you recover at the moment of paying your taxes, ok?
Patrick Vieira can say what he thinks about Roy Kean, but I don't care.  Patrick Vieira leaved Juventus just not to play in Serie B of Calcio.
In the McCarthy incident, many players of Ireland were on McCarthy's side.

OMG, it wasn't McCarthy, all his team mates did a vote, and he was kicked.
Right right I see now got ya, I understand.
I understand that you have no idea what you’re talking about not a single fact was right. Roy gives his TIME to charitable causes, see what I said TIME, he also handed over his testimonial money but did not mention the causes as he felt that to many players were doing that just for personal lime light. I know 2 organizations that benefited only because I happen to live near where they operate and was able to meet him at fundraisers. He has supported the local teams where he grew up not just soccer teams but hurling and rugby but you never read about them in the paper as he doesn’t like to seen in a bragging light.

Don’t talk about Saipan you haven’t a clue what went on there, the players never voted where did you read that bullshit or did you just make it up like some of the rest of your post. Kelly Quinn and Stan went to the press conference with Mick as the team had to be shown that it hadn’t split, Stan and Quinn have seemed to have made a peace with him while I don’t know about Kelly.
Fact that some of the younger players supported him privately but didn’t publicly voice there opinion only came to light after Ireland got knocked out. Mick and Keane both over reacted but Mick crossed the line, imagine taking a team to a world cup with no gear, 0 footballs for 3 days not to mention the inadequate facilities and a base hundreds of miles from the first game. Mick is not a good manager, a good and loyal servant to Irish football but not as a manager.

You are simply ignorant; you have to get the facts right before you start flaming an individual. I don’t start on Argentinean players as I don’t live there so I'm not privy to all the information but I do live in Ireland I know a lot more than most about Keane so I get defensive when twits post rubbish about him. I hope some Liverpool or Arsenal followers join in, I will debate with them as they at least know a bit about the premiership and Keane.
This goes for all the other idiots knocking him over what they read in the paper, please don’t post stupidity that you read and take for gospel from a tabloid

I pay income tax.  I pay all kinds of other taxes, like Value Added tax and whatever.  In total, about a third of my income is gone before it even hits my bank account.  But when I make charitable donations, I don't keep a record of them and claim back the money from taxes - that would mean I haven't actually donated anything.

When I donate money, I sign the form that allows the charity to claim back the tax on the donation, thereby giving more money to the charity.  Same as when I sponsor a colleague or friend who's doing an event for charity.  And I would hope anyone, even a hard-nosed guy like Mr Keane, would do the same.

There's no need in being so rude.  Ok, Roy Keane is your huge hero.  I respect that you have your hero.
But don't tell me I don't know a shit of premier league, since I watch all major teams matches since late 80's.
Did you hear of something called cable tv or internet?  So, don't tell me I can't speak coz I'm not Irish.
Perhaps shitty person is a bit extremist.  I apologize for hurting your feelings.  But, you can't say I don't know a shit of soccer or whatever.  Soccer is the thing I enjoy the most.  I see at least 6-10 matches a week, so don't tell me I'm ignorant.  Forgive me but Rou Keane image is not what you describe.  Perhaps you are right and he's a great man, but he needs then an image advisor.  Agree with me he's been in a lot of discipline troubles in his career.
Anyway, there's no need to be agressive.  If you make your point and I find you are right I can change my viewpoint.

Anyway to shed some light on the matter. Graham Kavanagh has joined Keano's revolution, this is where Sunderlands Irish eyes should stop smiling, he's shit.  He passes like a crab, however I suppose going sideways is better than going backwards.  Kav will recieve at least 2 red cards between now and the end of the season.

But you know the money you give to charity you can claim back when paying your income taxes.  Many people do charity, takes a photo with a huge check in front of an orphan home, then they pay less taxes.  I think the true charity is that you don't claim.

What I have been saying and you are not getting this is that you are basing your whole perception on the TV and papers. You do not know first hand and that’s what makes ignorant of Keanes less publicized side. When you say he needs a PR rep then you don’t know the person he is, he would never have one like other football players he shuns that sort of publicity and is outspoken against players that crave it. But the media like a guy that speaks his mind and twist his words around.
You say the true charity is the one you dont claim, have you read what I have been saying ? He doesnt come out all gushing saying I gave to this and that charity he keeps under the radar and only goes publicly when needed for example his drive for more guidedogs for the blind. He has totally turned that around and made people aware that money was needed and which was duly received.
The reason Im rude is that you have made your post up or got them completly wrong.

In case you didnt know, Americans could give a RATS ASS about soccer!

I like the Premership, and heard of the guys name, but you cant expect us to know IN DETAIL who this guy is. .

Do you know who Joe Montana (greatest NFL quarterback)is??

I mean its that type of question you either know if you really follow the sport, I think most of us yanks dont follow enough soccer to know who this dude is!

Either way the NFL/NCAA football seasons are starting, therefore we dont really care! LOL!
Isnt Joe Montanna the actor from Ace Venturra that kissed the chick with the bad hemorrhoids.

Im kidding I know who he is.

I think a lot more Americans know who he is than you think. Like shall we say the millions of Irish descent and the other millions that know whats going on in the rest of the worlds sports. Or the other millions that would google first to learn about somethin before typing "who is he" into a forum
Well I am half Irish(dads mom), and I had no clue the guy was Irish lol!! I had just heard of the name while I was watching a random premiership game. . . I will google him now to see what he's all about!

Americans have so many sports to follow, its hard for us to get into soccer.  I think saying were ignorant is a tad harsh considering most Europeans dont know our sports stars either!  With the exceptions being Michael Jordan! Soccer is a great game, but baseball and football rule the day here, and thats never gonna change.  I will say that the world cup was followed here way more closely than it has been in the past!!

Christ its going to be pistol's on karkland at this rate lol!

Roy keane was a good player in his time. But just because he was a good player doesn't automatically make him a good manager.

I suppose we will see in the end.
The only problem is the "toon army " and the sunderland crew take there football so seriously that they had to employ some hard nut to deal with it.

EDIT:Just saw NFL in someone's post NFL FTW 7th of september 5 days wooohooo.

First of all I would be just as rude to you as sagexp has been as you obviously are pulling your info out of your ass. Basing your info on what the media says concerning Keane is retarded as the man always gets bad press because he speaks his mind.

You also go on about his disciplinary record. The only true black mark was his challenge on Haaland who you should know since you've watched all the premiership matches since the late 80s wasn't afraid to put in nasty tackles himself. Everyone gets red cards throughout their career. I would consider Rooney to have a bigger disciplinary problem than Keane has ever had.

Gentlemen, my apologies for saying bad things about a true hero.  Nobel price of peace to Roy Keane.  He was a good football player, and that's all.  If he did some charity I don't give a shit.  I never liked him with his arrogant attitude inside the field.
