I've seen this asked but never answered. I'm installing SF onto my second computer as we speak. Once I get it installed and patched up I'll start a local game and try to find out.

I´ve tried it with a pal. I shot him and he didn´t get any dammage. We tried if it is just like the smokegrenade that you can only give a finishing blow. So I shot him with my M95 in the cheast and then a headshot with the zipline but no damage at all.

Still wanted to see for myself. It was a fun experiment anyway! Watching the zipline pass through the prone body of my second computer about 10 times, zip won't kill them and doesn't deal any damage. I also tried hooking someone with a grappling hook, and it was a no go. The hook passed right through it's body about 5 times before I stopped.
