If you're on the USMC side at the beginning, go AROUND the hotel. How many times do you have to die and/or lose because your whole fucking team is going after JUST THAT FLAG. There are ways to go around it such as go to the right and drop off the cliff (with a medic) or go to the left side and go for the suburb so the idiots can spawn there. Damn I'm tired of this happening. My damn WLR dropped quite a bit cause of this and I don't want to switch teams cuz I don't understand a damn thing and get annoyed by people saying the same damn thing. Ne who this is my second complain in 2 days so I'll lay off. I just needed to blow off some steam. And thank you for the people that actually do avoid the hotel at first.
Obvious your team was a bunch of turds. I feel your pain man.....I had a similar problem last night with a server I was in. So I left and went to a different one.
I've had this happen to me in 3 different servers. Pretty sad but that's the many faces of BF2.{BMF}*Frank_The_Tank wrote:

Ive had this alot too, and to make it even worse, when i do manage to get around without been spotted and cap a flag, theres usually a dumb ass commander thats so stupid he won't drop me supplies, so obviously im taken out fairly quickly and the flag is re-capped.
Or you could be like me and go the right alley way and then come up the ladder on the north end of the hotel and cap it with a squad and then move onto the square.
Or you could try playing a different map...
ive also got a tip,
if youre usmc and attacking hotel at the beginning of the round, go around hotel and attack it from the rear
works great for me, you can cap the flag or backstab the mecs
tactic: attack hotel from the rear, let your squad spawn at you while at the flag, cap it, stay there for a while and kill all the enemies who were around the famous 'karkand hallways' and are trying to take their flag back

I don't care much about my W/L ratio (0.81) so I don't cap much
with 520:28:15 of time
I usually only snipe somewhere or try straight assault in Karkand...
Code:
Capture Points Captured CP 2,041 Capture Assist 1,384 Defended CP 951

Thanks for letting me know that Death, when I see you on my team I'll just switch since you're a waste of a teammate.
You should care about wins/losses because so long as you're not one of those people who switch for the win, that's what I look at for who's a good player and who's not. A good player isn't somebody who can kill people and always get gold stars, a good player is somebody who helps his/her team win the round.

USMC and MEC go head to head south of hotel to get combat/teamwork points, not to cap flags. Besides, a good infantryman can easily get 60 points just by doing that. As opposed to only caping flags the entire round for a total of maybe 30 points...u can tell i go south of hotel
Ack, I hate it when that happens, but most people go there to camp the spawns. The only thing worse than than is when your on the MEC, and all your players sit at the hotel as every other flag is taken by the USMC. Do people not look at their mini-map? Running to the MEC base first FTW!capt. crunch wrote:

I help ppl yea but W/L isn't important to me.
And capturing flags isn't the only way to help ppl. I do cap but don't like it as much as sniping.
AND by the way u can't see me and switch, 'cos u dont know my bf2 nick lol

Getting a lot of points doesn't make you a good player.
Best Karkand Tip you can get: Play another map.
Thank you.imdead wrote:

I don't see why these Karkand lovers don't try out Sharqui or Mashtuur. They are both amazing infantry maps. Sharqui has a little bit of everything for everybody, except jets but I'm not going to miss the constant bombings left and right.

Great tip agrreed. I cant count how many times I take the long swim over to the factory only to have the commander never drop supplies for me or be in the process of capping a flag only to get run over roadkill happy team mate. or heck just going over to destroy the artillary is a huge help for the team. But alas I can only destroy two of them as spec ops.
whee!! but i still like Karkand, it's just that i won't have it be my favorite me... MUST PLAY MORE WAKE!imdead wrote:

WLR shouldnt be a good way of telling if someone is a good player or not. remember this is a teamwork game and there have been many of times when not just me but other clans as well have ended a round with buttloads of team points and still lose.FrankieSpankie3388 wrote:

so even if you play as a team you can still lose to ass caps all the time.
by the way my WLR sucks but i always try to play team work but usually i end up by myself
