Yeah I recommend resizing the image so there is not huge fucking white thing on the side. Also, you could darken the images a little to fit the background a bit more. And sometimes, filters don't hurt.

I like it, i dont like the background though, may look better with something to cover up a bit more of it e.g. a knife. apart form that nicely done!

You should go and find some tutorial websites - that's how I made my signature. I can't remember the site of the top of my head, sorry.
One thing you can work on is cutting out your 'renders' (the things you place over the background). If you get the cutting out more precise, then it will took tonnes better. Try using the polygonal lasso, clicking regularly along what you want to cut out.
What version of Photoshop are you using?

As others have said above, the edges of the soldier are kind of uneven, but that can be fixed. Another thing I notice is the soldier and the helicopter kind of pop out of the background when they should blend in. Like your current sig, the green of the sniper and the gray of the background match, where this sig looks unmatching.

white halo around the soldier. Select more carefully or, layer > matting > Defringe (delete selected amount of pixels around the image) or remove black/white matte.
What is that background? Download some good brushes and start messing around. That looks like Clouds + filter.

these helped me tons when i first started and i got addicted. i would make a new sig everyday and try different tools and different ideas. stick with it and in no time you will be proficient. i've been making sigs for my friends for about a year now. also avatars, website banners and what not. its fun.
there are many more sites out there but these are the ones i frequent. check them out or just google "photoshop tutorial" and you will have it all at your fingertips.
