Did you know the guy personally? No? His programmes will still be repeated ad nauseam and probably even more so now the guy's dead so what's to miss?Altophish wrote:

Closed because of Vandalism; reminds me of another demi-God name Steve.Samtheman53 wrote:

Two things:Altophish wrote:
Well Topthrill, as a matter of fact I did know the guy. He was one of the greatest animal rights activist of our time with the charisma and clout to make a huge impact in our world. He spent a great deal of time in our neck of the woods pulbic speaking, educating, and helping run and organize more programs for helping injured and abused animals than I could possibly keep track of.
Yes his shows will still be aired, but that is the smallest part of his impact on all of us. Even if you dont realize it yet.
So my advise for you Topthrilll is to shut your fucking face. And the next time you have something smart to say....keep it to yourself.

For me, I really don't give a toss. I didn't know him but I saw a couple of his tv shows, which were a bit OTT especially when he was plugging Australia Zoo.
Best thing about him is the interview on the radio on Grand Teft Auto (was it III or Vice City) where they've got him (or a damn good impressionist) talking about "loving animals". Man, that was a top laigh.
Oh, um, RIP I guess.

I'm sure I would have said so too EstebanRey, the reason being he spreads a stereotype of Australian that is not at all true (over 60% of Australians live in the various cities scattered around Oz, excluding me). I'm also thinking that Test_Beagle, Greenie_Beazinie and 12elik didn't know about the work he does with wildlife behind the scenes because he did alot more than his TV show.=OBS= EstebanRey wrote:
What gets me is a couple of months ago I was reading a topic on here where the Australian contingent were bad mouthing the guy and acting embarrassed to have him a representative of Australia (it was some debate whether he'd been to NZ or not, I'm sure you can use the search button). Now, as soon as he pops he clogs the attitude changes as if the guy was the Jesus of Oz or something.
I know it's bad form to bad mouth a dead guy but on the other hand, why bullsh*t.......
In fact, just did the search. It was called "What gives your country a bad name" and three Australians listed Irwin as one although to be fair they have yet to post in this topic
