Awesome movie. I know football is important, but does that stuff really happen?
Yes it does. The team I support have been renowned for football violence. We used to have an awful reputation but thankfully a lot of those so called fans are now behind bars and thus can't attend matches. It happens at all levels of Uk football, from International to lower leagues. Ive seen violence at matches where there was only a few hundred people. It goes right through the ages, one of the most shocking things I have seen was at a Cardiff v Swansea game (always trouble at these games) when a OAP Husband and Wife got off the visiting supporters bus and through lighters and golf balls into the awaiting Cardiff fans. It isn't a UK only thing, even the USA have violence at american football matches. Just about every country suffers from it and we have had it since the 50's.
Ive never been involved myself but have always been close enough to see the action in fine detail. Ive taken my step son along and made sure we got chased by the police. Strange behaviour for a parent?? It was because I was worried that when he started going with his mates he would know the signs of when it was going to kick off before it actually happened, thus giving him time to get out the area.
Its a subject that will always interest me.
