I have only been on these forums for a couple weeks, but I see people getting banned for no real reasons. I mean unless you are using racial slurs, pornography, or stuff like that, then why would you ban people? It appears that bans are given sometimes because of a difference in viewpoints. If that is the way this forum is run, fine, it is your place, but why would you want it to be like that? I think bans should be on some type of voting system between the mods, having one person who may be having a bad day or happens to disagree with someone is not a good reason to ban people, no matter how you spin it.

I guess what I am saying, there are people of all different agree groups, religions, and from countries all over the world. People are going to disagree, some groups of people may be offended by certain things while others won't. I am not telling you guys how to do your job, just offering some advice.

I think there is alot of overbanning.

Maybe when some guy makes a new account and posts 5 topics on Paper,then thats a ban,as well as racial slurs.

I enjoy so pornography so i'l stick to my 2 rules.

Well, not speaking for the Mods here but i think seeing as you haven`t been here so long its a tad early to make reflections to how this forum is being runned and what is or is not a bannable offence !

Any questions related to a ban can be directed to a moderator, no need for an own thread

I was banned from Total BF2 forums for making posts about cheaters and hackers. They were discussion posts and were generally quite civilized. Stuff like this will get you banned from most gaming forums because they don't want it to be widely known that there are hacks available. Also if you post spam you'll get banned. But from what I've gathered you can be as ignorant as you want and not get banned (unless your ignorant to the wrong person...lol!). Also, you can derail someone elses thread and not get banned...if you belong to such and such a clan or have 'x' number of posts under your belt, or you are friends with a moderator.....ya know w'm sayn?

Well, I may have registered recently, but I have been here for a few months and know what you are talking about.

Myself I am glad the Mods are coming down hard on all the flamers, spammers and personal attacks.

This forum was on the edge of a cliff with all the junk in the past and I am glad the Mods are taking back control.

Just post sensibly and you wont have a problem will you?

I can't speak for all the staff here, but most of the time the reason for a user getting banned will not be visible to all the users. Often the post that incurred the ban will be deleted or edited by the moderator, or the ban is the result of many smaller infractions. In either case, do not look at the 'banned' title on someone you think is ok and assume us mods are a bunch of power-mongering bastards. We're not.

In short, you may think someone was banned for no good reason, but in reality there is probably a very good reason that you are not aware of. If you believe someone was banned in error, please take it up with an administrator. Otherwise, try not to worry about it. You're not going to be banned for this post. You're not going to be banned for speaking your mind (within reason). Follow the rules as listed for the forums and don't be an asshole and you will be fine.
